Very possible. WiiU sales are apparently very bad this month tho so they're going to need a good uptick in the last two days of May.
Won't do it in June, the price cut/advertising will overcome WiiU.

Doubtful but it will be very close. Both consoles are basically dead at this point.

It's probably going to be less than a 2:1 ratio in favor of the Xbox One and that cannot be called crushing anymore. But why bother with beating an also-ran? Kicking the champ around in Japan is where it's at. |
The only thing here is Japan is practically irrelevant ... I highly doubt MK8 will make the WII U surge through the charts. I still think it's gonna be roughly a 2-1 ratio even though the xbox one did horribly for April.
If only Mario Kart 8 was out sooner, it might have had a chance. I'll remain hopeful :P

Yes cause people will wait for the kinectless version and some will buy a Wii U this month to play MK.
People may be waiting for the 399 XBone but people will also be waiting for the Wii U with Mario Kart, and not everyone will rush out to get it day one. Better chance in June, as I don't think the price cut is going to be all that huge.
No I highly doubt wii u will win any month to Xb1, even with smash or mario kart.
I think XOne sales will start to improve over the summer as the $399.99 price point takes hold and things like Madden NFL start to come out.
But for May ... XO probably wins it, not enough days of the MK8 bundle to make an impact unless NPD tracks into the first week of June for May numbers (which is possible).
