I really dont think emulating old ass games for people who dont want to move on is a priority over all the other things the PS4 is missing.

I'm also not sure why anyone with a PS1 or PS2 game would be disappointed they cant play it on the PS4.

If you buy a PS4 game today, you are not going to consider whether you think PS6 and PS7 will have BC or not. You will buy it and be happy as long as it works on the console it says on the box. Sure its a nice bonus if it works on anything else as well, but if it doesnt its not really "malicious" in any way.

Actually I'm not buying a PS4 until it has at least PS1 games on it. I never owned a PS1 2 or 3 so I wanted to finally get on the boat with backwards compatitablility. Oh well guess I'll stick to buying a vita.


Would be cheaper if you bought a PS2 than a vita which still wont play PS3 games and the controls may feel awkward.

I think you underestimate the exclusive buying power of Nintendo owners. It's already garuanteed 200k units, it just has to break 2million, which wont be hard. 

AlsoI do expect them to port Bayonetta 1 to the Wii U (Would end up being the best version)

I'm not underestimating the fact that Exclusives are often eaten up by Nintendo fans, if Monster Hunter and Lego City is any indicator. I'm making the point that lifetime sales probobly won't look fantastic on paper.

Do people really like backwards compatibility? I never really talked about it with anyone before, but I remember when ps2 announced it would be backwards compatible and being not only excited but impressed by the idea. However once I got the ps2 I used the backwards functionality maybe three times, then used it on 360 to play jade empire and that wound up being the extent of my backwards compatibility experience.

I suppose my issue is that I already owned all the systems prior so such functionality didn't present much value to me.
