It's the Titanfall effect all over again, only this time perhaps even less so (exciting new IP vs. rehashed old games that are played out). No HD remake has a shot at doing much of anything this gen other than serving as filler. Not TLOU, not GTAV, not Halo, nothing. People want new games, not old crap reheated. The most successful rehashes will sell 1-2M. Halo 1 HD got to what, 3M on a massive install base after YEARS of availability? Meh. The only shot a MCC bundle has at major sales is if it's $299, or if it's basically the default SKU for sale at the time (eg; there's no 'vanilla' XB1 available for less money). Which is why Titanfall bundles sold, they were $50 less than buying the XB1 with no game, and for a long time that was the only SKU you saw in stores (As they reskinned unsold consoles to try to get them moving). |
I have a lot of Halo friends that have still not bought a next gen console. They were going to wait until Halo 5, but some say the Halo MCC is too good to be true and plan to upgrade then.
