*sighs* It looks like I have to explain this to you one more time. Consoles always sell the most at launch. The Kinectless SKU launch is the time period where the SKU will sell the most in its lifetime. After that, sales will fall to a baseline. However, the PS4 outsold the X1 in June by 72k units, despite the SKU launch and despite the PS4 not having a single major release that month. The gap grew after the SKU launch.

If 197k (in a 5 week period, I should also point out) is the best the X1 can do on its hometurf, then that's really bad. The baseline is/will be significantly lower than that. That's why the PS4 outsold the X1 in June. The X1 could not maintain high enough sales after launch which allowed the PS4 to slip past mid-month. If you think the X1 can do better for the remainder of the year, then you're completely wrong.

TLOU Remastered is going to release near the end of this month. PS4 sales will rise at the end of July and beginning of August. In September, the PS4 will greatly benefit from Destiny because of exclusive content and the bundle. A lot of people preordered the bundle and even now, it still ranks high in major retailers. The X1 has nothing to counter for those 3 months. It won't be until FH2 where X1 can fight back. However, PS4 also has Driveclub and people's impressions of the game thus far has been greatly positive. The PS4 can outsell the X1 in October, too, considering that Sony masterfully combated Titanfall with Infamous: SS in March. So that leaves November and December. X1 might outsell the PS4 in November because of the Halo: MCC. However, as good of a value it has, it is geared more towards the hardcore X1 fans aka. the one's who already own an X1. The collection itself will sell extremely well, but whether it can move a lot of hardware is another matter. In addition, it is being released in the midst of several major 3rd party titles like Assassin's Creed Unity and COD: AW.

Overall, X1 will not win any of the remaining months except for maybe November. Outselling its competition in only 1 out of 5 months isn't really a good definition of "holding its ground" and "catching up", is it? 2015 looks even more grim...

And people keep forgetting that during christmas/new year/black friday timeline consoles sell a lot, X1 can easily sell 1 million during that time.

i will take a permaban bet that the xb1 wont catch up in the us by jan 1st

the main problem was the basis, reasoning, and even possibility of his initial prediction.  he also has a tendency to edit his posts so its hard to keep track of what hes actually trying to shovel.  his initial prediction had it catching up by the end of the year.  in order to do that it would have to pull numbers that are not realistically possible.

he also continues to insist his predictions are going to hold right despite clear evidence saying otherwise,  and he refutes NPD.     or tries to say hes not wrong he just needs to make some adjustments.  

There will be no point at which an admission will come, because all you need to do is look at the fact that 360 overtook Wii in the UK before the end of last gen, and it will overtake Wii in the USA before Wii goes off the market (going by NPD numbers, by VGC numbers 360 is 2 million ahead of Wii already).

So if 360 can do it to Wii, then to TheDrill Xb one WILL do it to PS4 eventually.

And so can the PS4 ... and will sell MORE than the XB1.

The one that matters is still alive and drilling :)

Just put a date to it, say "I think Xbox1 will outsell the PS4 globally in the US by the X of Y in the year 20ZZ" And it will make all the pain go away until that date.

When you talk of Soon... and then the end of the generation that shows you either have no concept of numbers or time.
