Hey, as you can probably tell from the thread title, and the fact that this is in the Introduce Yourself forum, I'm new here. I've lurked for ages, but decided to take the plunge and haven't regretted it. I've been posting in the Playstation Nation thread and the Vita official thread, and on random other topics as well.
I'm a pretty varied gamer, and am pretty much company neutral. I have a PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, Wii U, 3DS and Vita, and am holding off on getting either of the new consoles until a bit later in the generation for a couple of reasons:
The first being the fact that I don't want to, the second being that I really don't want to. There are also these reasons: I just simply don't have the funds to step up into next gen yet, and the second being that for me currently it would be a pointless investment. I'm on a gap year at the moment, where I'm working part time to save some money up for university, and also working in a primary school on the days I'm not at work. I am a teaching assistant and work in classrooms with kids ranging from 5-11 so I get to see a lot of different teaching styles, something which will hopefully come in handy when I apply for a teaching course after the degree I'm going to start in September, which is a Japanese/French joint honours.
I've always had an issue with completing games, because I have the attention span of a gnat on caffeine - I often start and never finish them, especially on home consoles, where I'm kind of a chronic buyer of games. If I see something in a deal that I've previously thought I might want to play, I'll often pick it up. This does mean I've got a rather large backlog of games. I've recently finished Tales of Xillia, which I loved, especially from the second chapter onwards. RPGs are my favourite genre of game, as I really love the rich stories that can unfold before you. I'm really, really rubbish at FPSes as I have pretty slow trigger twitchiness so I NEVER play online because I. will. embarrass. everyone. Other than that I'm pretty easy going when it comes to games, and I'll often try something out.
I live in London, and have always lived here, but will be living in Japan from September 2016 to June 2017 as part of my course.
The community here seems great - now I've complemented you, so can I be accepted? ;) - and I'm looking forward to getting to know people here. So yeah.

That was nice. I'm so glad you all took the time to not read that because it's too long ;) See you 'round!

Consoles: 3DS, Wii U, and Vita soon. Super Paper Mario fan.
