I dont really see how nintendo could ditch the gamepad at this point. It is pretty much the ome thing the wii u has going for it...

No dude. It's the one thing the Wii u has going against it.

If the proposed NFC figures go insanely popular, the gamepad will suddenly become a masterstroke.

IMO, MS is. I have an XB1 and like it, but don't even like the Kinect. I feel they are continuing down the right path that started with the pre-release 180. I also don't hold grudges against people or companies for past choices, when they make the right decisions going forward.

This. I have no interest in Kinect, getting some of the retail off will make me far more inclined to pick an X1 up when the likes of Sunset Overdrive hit if they turn out to be half as good as they currently look.

Wii U pad is outdated and low quality (especially that LCD) tech doing something nobody needs and keeping the cost of the system prohibitively high for the audience which Nintendo's content appeals to the most.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Microsoft because they're actually responding to what consumers want.

The Xbox One and PS4 have way more value for their money than the Wii U does.

No way. For what you'd pay to buy just a PS4 or kinectless Xbox One, you can pick up a MK8 bundle (which includes a 2nd controller) along with 2 major retail games.

That's value.

I will buy one when it drops down in price, but I am thinking more about the future of the console. I tend to buy games once the initial hype has died down and the price drops. From my experience, Nintendo games don't drop in price till a few years after it's release so they're still really pricey. Plus I am not too sure if I want to spend a lot of money on a console that doesn't have the same quality as the other two just so I can play their first party titles.

Kinect Sports Rivals? Fantasia? Fru?

Oh yeah.  I forgot about Kinect Sports Rivals.  Well.  These are games that were in development prior to the loss of the Kinect.  Unless i t's a Microsoft game, Microsoft funded, or a casual game that sells millions like Just Dance and is ported to all consoles, I don't think we'll see any developer starting new development on a Kinect exclusive game after the removal.

So make a redesigned pro controller with NFC. Or do the same thing the 3DS is doing and release a periferal.

Nintendo of course. They want to sell those 3.6M in the FY and a sku without gamepad could sell more. We don't want that to happen, right?

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

Neither.
XB1 minus Kinect should be priced 349 at most.
WiiU should give the option and sell gamepads separately, then I can buy a second one so I don't have to use the one with all the greasy kid fingers on it.

The Wii U launched at a $350-B and $300-W.

Pretty much Microsoft.

Holy crap who is voting for Nintendo? What decision did Nintendo make to improve the situation of the Wii U??????
This is ridicilous.

Mario Kart 8 bundle.

More or less a price cut as you get an extra controller and an extra free game for only $30 more. You still get the free game even if you're just buying MK8. There's some pretty generous preorder bonus floating around too (gift cards of almost $25) .

Plus all deluxe set owners are now getting 10% discount on all digital purchases.

And likely lineup for the second half of 2014 that's undeniably EPIC.

At bolded: where? :D
