Well, Dead Rising 3 (Xone) is kind of fun... for like 2 hourse, mindless killing is never fun for me. I can't stand shallow gameplay and story. Try again :p

Shallow story? You could make a case about the gameplay, but no way about the other!

I'd suggest you try Dead Rising 1 or 2.

Wright, the story in Dead Rising is fun and enjoyable, but it's absolutely a shallow story.

It's not, what's so shallow about it? D:

It has character development. It has a kinda unique plot for a zombie game (the first one, at least), and it has twists.

It's just a step above Deadly Premonition in depth. It's feels and plays like a B-horror movie and that isn't an insult. It's part of the appeal imo.

A good story is much more than a series of events that take place. That exactely what DR3 story was. Having an idea or a meaning to share is the first step. I feel like it's too late for me to get into the series tbh.

Not all B-horror movies are shallow, that's a very crude generalization!

Which takes me back to the first point.

I haven't played Dead Rising 3 though, so I can't comment further here.

What's this game about and should I care? Those two screens look suspiciously like Demons' Souls

from the live demo at last year's tgs i can say it plays a lot different than demon's souls.

but the highlights:

  • ps4 exclusive
  • capcom
  • free to play
  • procedurally generated dungons
  • dragons bosses
  • 4 player co-op

i'm not sure exactly what to think yet.  i've seen some things that make the game look amazing and other that make it look boring.  but it is fairly pretty for a free to play game.  i know that i'll be downloading and at least trying it out.  to me it looks like a good free to play game at least.   ..and i like dragons.

if it turns out as good as warframe is i'll be happy to play it.
