Forums - Gaming - Do you want Sony or Microsoft to do a "digital event" instead of an E3 press conference?

Conference or Digital Event!

Conference 207 53.21%

Digital Event 99 25.45%

Who cares? E3 is E3 83 21.34%

Total:389

i cant believe this is even a question,   the conferences are easily the better way to go..  would these moments be as great if its just recorded in a studio?

I am Torgo, I take care of the place while the master is away.

"Hes the clown that makes the dark side fun.. Torgo!"

Ha.. i won my bet, but i wasnt around to gloat because im on a better forum!  See ya guys on Viz

LOL There are people in this world who view a stage performance to be more captivating than a video (many). Almost every electronics brand goes through it. Nintendo just walked themselves out of tradition. Its obvious that Nintendo did not have enough content to fill a full show so they prepare 30-40 minutes of film. How anti-climactic and boring.

That wholly subjective and frankly very immature way of responding clarifies much. Thanks.

I see you met my friend S.T.A.G.E. and hopefully you like generalizations and opinions stated as facts. That's kind of his thing.

Digital event of course! Less fluff, more games! Plus I don't need an audience to help come up with my own opinions!

Bu, bu, bu, but the media! (I'd explain what about them if I truly understood what they can't get from a digital event.) And how will I POSSIBLY know what is "next gen" about releases unless the devs hold my hand through every aspect of what's supposed to be next gen about it.

The thing that keeps it from being truly funny to me is he's in on the joke. He's grinning and way over reacting to the reveal. The Wii drummer guy however was dead serious through the whole travesty.

Yea right, so many votes to the digital event , why not end E3 ?

Exactly, Nintendo fans follow Nintendo so blindly that their wishes for the companies to follow Nintendos method would negate the grand nature of E3 itself, which take away its centerpiece. People would be better off watching the pre-taped videos at PAX if this was the case. E3 is an event where viewers are watching and judging the developersand publishers  based on what they have planned for the year.

Yeah because there's no way we'd know what publishers and devs have in store with a digital event. Lol.

Grand nature of E3, lol, oh my God. Please explain that more.

I guess watching a conference is WAY better than watching fans battle in a tournament of an unreleased game, and playing E3 demos themselves at local Best Buys. There's no fan reactions, LOL!

How many third parties did you see speak during Nintendos Direct? Please...enlighten me.

No I want them to keep the conferences. I also want Nintendo to go back to that style again next year.

Yep.

Speak, 0. How many Nintendo devs spoke? 0. So "How do we know what 3rd party devs are up to?" You see the games, or in this years case watch the Nintendo Treehouse events where they are going to talk to devs. You're acting like something that can very easily be done, isn't possible. Need more info? watch the dedicated third party directs. We've had them for The Wonderful 101, and Bayonetta 2, as well as all the Nintendo developers.

I think the decision by Nintendo to go digital was a fairly stupid one and I am totally happy that Sony (and MS I guess) are doing a conference.
