Forums - Microsoft - The Death of HD-DVD and Why Microsoft is Dying

this debate should have been all over when the biased guy in the article failed to mention MS profits/sales etc

Interesting read. Person was obviously very educated and hates Microsoft with a passion. It was a bit biased and misleading with its numbers but it's good to see M$ exposed for what they've done. Here's to new beginnings.

Interesting article. I didn't know that MS was that involved with HD DVD. (Either that or I somehow forgot about it over time.) It's a very moot point now that the format war is over and we're stuck with Bluray (which may be just as bad). I'll be sticking with regular old DVD and my upconvert player.

I don't think we'll see MS bring out a Bluray drive for the 360. The whole reason for the HD DVD one was to slow down the adoption of the formats while MS put together their downloadable media plan. Now that is in place, they'll declare discs dead and push that agenda heavily.

Numbers are like people. Torture them enough and you can get them to say anything you want.
