Forums - Gaming - Traded in my XB1 for a PS4

It's a bit early to be trading in consoles, but if it's simply from a standpoint of retained value, it's more likely that the XB1 will be available at retail at $399 later this year than not, so if someone can get that much for a used console today, it's not a loss.

5 months isn't long, but if something doesn't meet expectations, then sure; buyer's remorse is understandable.

You can always pick up an XB1 for less at a later time when games you're ready to buy at that time are actually available.

And Halo 5 will likely be worth reconsidering the XB1, even if as a secondary platform.

I probably would have waited a month for E3 and seen what console has more appealing games coming out this year.

Dear OP, i'm sorry to hear that you are not financially stable enough to simply own both, you have my condolences.

I don't know why I would when I'm planning to pick up a PS4 later this year, and the games I want to buy now are multiplat.

Why do you always see posts of people advertising switching from Xbox to PS (or so they claim) but NEVER vice versa?

Just...odd lol. Given that probably 95% of people on forums are Playstation fans.

I would say give it time before deciding how happy you are. You havent even played your PS4 (or not much) if I read your post right.

I don't really trust 343 to make a good Halo game after the mess they made with 4 either.

Justify please.

I wonder why he bought it in the first place...

It's hard to switch from PS4 to Xbone. If you initially buy a Sony console is because you trust the brand and IPs.  Why to switch to ONE ? To pay more and have inferior multiplatform games ?  If you really care so much about Halo and Kinect, you buy Xbone on day one; if you buy PS4, which cost less, is more powerful, better multiplatform games, better 1st party developers, you don't suddenly change your mind, become crazy, and switch to Xbone.  It is not odd as you think.

On the other hand, if you are not a Halo fanatic or you don't like so much this Kinect, and you buy One because you were a bit loyal to MS after the beautiful 360, it might happen that you switch to PS4. My opinion.

You won't have many fans if you go around saying things like that.

Some people (quite rightly) don't want to spend $1200 for all 3 consoles along with subscription fees, games, extra controllers etc. Some people buy PCs, IPads and a lot of other stuff too so it's not like everyone has that kind of money lying around. ($ 4000 over 4 years? More?)

Not to mention that "financially stable" is laughable as indicative of one's decision to buy 3 similar devices. Someone who goes around buying all available electronics (especially an early adopter) has the symptoms of someone very entrenched in the rat race. Much better to earn less money and not be so dependent on what advertisers want to push down our throats.

More than half the world can't afford regular food. Just think about that next time you act all elite.

Bad move, should've waited til E3 to see the future.
