Lowest year for Nintendo hardware as a whole since 1997/98. I think honestly next year may be even lower, while I do think the Wii U can hit its sales targets (3.6 mill up from 2.72 mill the previous year), I'm not so sure the 3DS can hit 12 million this year. 

Just looking at Japan, the 3DS is way down YoY almost every week, and its trending down YoY in NPD sales too.

Makes sense. DS and Wii shipments are minimal, Wii U is their worst performing home console, the handheld console market (which has always formed the majority of their business) has been shrank by tablets and smartphones.

It'll be more interesting to see how the graphs go over the next three to five years.

3DS is going to continue to decline. 

QOL will launch next year, but I don't really think that will qualify as a "game platform" it will be its own (seperate) thing. Wouldn't even be surprised if it has its own seperate branding (without the Nintendo logo prominently displayed). 

Fusion handheld/hybrid thats been heavily speculated and hinted at by Nintendo themselves probably will come in late 2015-first half 2016 IMO. Nintendo can't make the profits they want with the 3DS only moving 10-12 million units a year.
