Forums - Sony - MLB The Show 14 on PS4 is a great game, even for non sports fans.

I can't wait to start playing, but first the game was about 12 hours late to the store, and now I still need to wait for 40GB to download.
I don't wish to bitch about PS4, I'm grateful for all the stuff they've added in the updates, but they still haven't fixed the download manager to at least PS3 standards.

As for RTTS, it is by far the best Career mode of any sports game, and the game of baseball is not that complicated so even people who don't follow it or know much about it (Europe) can easily pick up and enjoy the game.

If you are someone who doesn't know the rules of baseball I certainly recommend starting with a position that isn't too complicated to learn like 1st base.

Also, if you wish to watch a bit of baseball, you can create an US account on PS4, download MLB Premium app.
Go to mlb.com, create an account there, and sign into the app on PS4 with that created account.
You will get one free game daily, of their choosing.

I can't quite explain the details of that free offer, because I am paying $130 per year to watch any and all games available, not only on PS4, but the subscription gives me acces to "AtBat" app on my smartphone and tablet (available both for Android and Apple). And I've just recently found out it's available on my WD TV Live mini console.

If only that were true.

I signed up for it so I could avoid Cablevision and save a bunch of money. Little did I know that since I live in NY the Mets games are blacked out on MLB.TV unless I wanted to watch them 24-48 hours late.

Yeah they suck, but I still enjoy watching a game.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Well, sorry that I haven't specified, this works for people outside of US, because we have no broadcasts to get blacked out of. If you live in the US, then all you can watch are out-of-market teams.

Yeah, I was thinking of asking my family from Georgia to sign up for an account and i'll send them the money, that way I could watch the Mets on MLB.TV.

I believe that might work around my little issue here.

Can you just give them a fake address, like Idaho or Montana? I'm in Europe, but as far as Sony is concerned I live in Dover, Delaware (no sales tax). And Amazon.com thinks that I'm in Indiana for when I need to top up my PSN account ;)

I think many games about a sport can be also for people who don't care about sports. Even Something like Fifa but as example Football Manager is a nice example. If you like strategy and managing it could be great eve if you don't care about football. I mean, I like to play shooters but I'm absolutely not interested in anything weapon related nor do I like war

And that Road to the Show mode sounds really nice.

Idk about it being great for non-sports fans, baseball can be pretty boring even if you're a fan. But people must be dying to play it, seems like it has been sold out on PS4 almost everywhere I have been.

I can try, but I believe I may have done it before and ran into issues. Maybe since my card info has all NY addresses.
