Because as the gap grows, it becomes more and more expensive for MS to fork up enough money to do that.  In fact, we're getting to a point where Sony could quite easily put the screws to Activision by demanding more content when timed exclusive content comes to their platform.  It happened with the PS3 (not necessarily w/ Activision, mind you), and we quickly saw Japanese developers stop doing timed exclusive deals w/ MS.

Some more news:

• The Elder Scrolls Online's beta for PS4 will start tomorrow on PS4, although it is limited and you must receive an invite to participate. It will be open from tomorrow morning (10 am the 23rd) until the morning of April 27th (10 am).  In other TESO news, the game will exceed the 50GB limit on the bluray disc for both PS4 and X1, and a 15GB day one patch is needed to play the game.
• Another teaser video has emerged for this year's Tony Hawk game. This one features Rob Wootton going through a mock up of "select your character" animations. Hawk captioned the video: "I am sharing this now in honor of our next game having been accidentally 'leaked' recently...THPS fans will rejoice. Details soon."
• There has been more buzz about Sony having an exclusive marketing deal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. Keep in mind that there have been nothing but rumors, and as far as I know Microsoft is supposed to have the marketing deal until 2018. Conflicting sources have claimed that MS only had the deal until Advanced Warfare however, so stay tuned.
• Last but not least, if you felt like you could use a little more hype for your PS4/Vita, here is a Japanese video for spring/summer releases.

I'm very interested in the Tony Hawk games, but also in TESO, albeit for different reasons. To me, it sounds like there is less and less interest for a console version of TESO. First it was delayed for a year (with rumors of cancellation) which did not help interest and now you need to download 15GB just to be able to play the game. A bit much

i doubt MS wouldnt pay up either way, their CoD deal is a huge seller for XB1. it is one of the reasons why Xbox sells so well in the states. 

also, it had its effect because it was there when the CoD fanbase grew and the franchise grew. if Sony paid for it now i doubt it would have the same effect. yeah a limited edition console with a CoD theme on it for 50$ more with the game would sell gangbusters, but it wouldnt have the long term effect that the Xbox had. 

playing infamous first light. my god is this good. arena is SO fun. story missions are OK, not as good as Infamous SS. but the arena shows how great the gameplay can be.

also, am i the only one who wants a PvP in the next infamous? i feel it would be great.

It would be interesting and would add a lot of replay value. However, for the next Infamous game I'm hoping they connect Delsin and Cole's story and get rid of the Good/Evil choices. They're honestly pointless at this point.

i think they should make them better, rather than take out the choices. let them have a stronger effect on the story.

and they should have an Arena like mode in the next one, as well as a Co-OP (i really really would love a split screen option) and PvP. imagine Arena split screen. would be epic.
