I think Sony would pay the rest if they miss the goal. If you already pay developers to make exclusive games for you it wouldn't be such a bad idea to pay developers only some of the rest they need for an exclusive game which is even from an IP you own. 

Problem is: if you don't reach your goal on Kickstar, you don't get a dollar. Unless they reach the $775k goal (which would fund them the project), Sony would need to put down the whole $775k.

Hell no, that's shitty way. Basically, invest in the game without making any profits. If they want money they can go to a bank. Players should not be funding this. It's not like they're not known in the industry.

The game was never a financial success, so why should a bank loan them money?
