Forums - Sony Discussion - Lair patch with normal controls: CONFIRMED!

Lair patch with normal controls--CONFIRMED. No longer a "rumor."
Lair will definitely be on my list to try again--I HATED the motion controls it came with and quit playing on Chapter 3.  I'm pumped cuz the game looks beautiful, has an amazing soundtrack, and appears to have an epic story behind it.

For those of us who have spent some quality time with Factor 5's dragon flight simulator for thePlayStation, Lair, here's some very good news: the highly-rumored upcoming patch that would give players the option to choose analog controls is now confirmed, and has an ETA of this year's first quarter. Yes!

This news comes direct from this year's Games Developer Conference, where Factor 5 seems to have held a demo of the game with the patch installed. An attendee from IGN's own words can only describe our own elation:

I played it and Holy ****; Greg needs to give them a new score. It was kind of clear that Factor 5 put in the extra effort a little begrudgingly, but the results were amazing. This might push me over the edge into the “must buy PS3” territory.

Hopefully, they also fixed all the other issues plaguing the game. If they have, then Lair is going to be a very, very fine game indeed, one that deserves a re-playthrough. Updates as we get them!

NOPE.

is Lair even launched in Europe? if it comes out with the launch, it's not too bad a game.

I'd buy it if the patch fixes the control issue. Other than that, it's a pretty decent game with great graphics.

Weren't the controls a minor problem compared to other problems? If that was the only problem, maybe I'll do some investigating....... :)

Lair is a completely broken game with a fun basic premise and the worst execution imaginable. No, the controls weren't the broken part. That is all.

Do you have a source for this being fake? Honestly I agree that it sounds doubtful, but I'd like a source.

Controls weren't Lair's only problems either. The game also suffered from massive framerate drops and texture pop-in, repetitive mission structure, horrible targeting, an awful button time sequence system, very bad auto-camera, and poor mission objective indicators. It was a bad game, topped with unplayable control.

The controls were one of the problems, along with some frame drops, but not alot from all the video's i saw. Along with confusing mission structure, with pop videos while you are trying to do something different.

But the music is its best part from what i heard, it won some awards from major music places, plus the graphics were good from what i heard.

His link was broken, thought it was made up. Guess it's all too real though...
