Forums - Sony - New PS4. Games? Sell PS3?

Like others have said, DON'T SELL THAT PS3. Even if you get a PS4, it's likely that the PS3 has features that you're going to miss on the PS4. Lots of apps and functions haven't made it to the PS4 yet. And the PS4 library really isn't enough to hold your attention for long at this point. The good stuff is coming but right now, it's nothing amazing.

Child of Light for PS4. around 12 hours long and best JRPG battle system ive played in a long time, if your a JRPG fan make sure to play on Hard.

Don't sell your console unless you really need the money. You'll regret it.

My PS4 recommendations:

Assassins Creed IV
Infamous SS
Killzone Shadow Fall

If you love RPGs.

Tales of Xillia 2 is coming out along with Persona 5 next year in the west (This year in the East).

I would keep the PS3 due to the lack of b/c with the PS4.

Tales of Xillia 2 is coming out this August in the west you mean. Tales of Zestiria will probably come next year like Persona 5

@OP If you like JRPGs you should never get rid of the PS3. There's a lot coming like Tales of Xillia 2, Tales of Zestiria, Persona 5, Fairy Fencer F, Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD, Drakengard 3.

If you dont care for japanese games than do whatever you want, but i wouldnt sell the ps3 if i had a solid collection of titles that i love and there's also PS+.

The games that I have on ps4 that are most time consuming are dw8xl:ce ffxiv:arr and infamous second son... though I heard third was really good too

I'm not going to go into detail on PS4 games as it is already discussed to death in other threads and you can check Metacritic and howlongtobeat sites. Yes, there are great, long PS4 games and it is only going to get better. As for selling PS3, I would say don't as there is no backwards compatibility and I bet PSNow is going to be expensive at least at first. Only way I would suggest someone sell it, is if there is nothing left on it you want to play from its backlog. Also I know some people that are keeping it to use Netflix and play movies and music so they don't have to run their PS4 constantly as they think it will prolong newer system's life...

Oh yeah...one thing I forgot. PS4 does NOT play music cd's or 3d Blu-rays at all yet.  it also does not have DooM 1 and 2 for download...SO yeah more reasons to keep PS3.

Keep the PS3, you might find games that you've somehow missed over the years while PS4 has little right now and is very expensive. This time next year it will be different but I say don't ever get rid of the old consoles
