Forums - Sales - Is X1 production slowing down?

http://www.savecontinue.com/2014/04/xbox-one-production-slowing-whats-next-microsoft/

Actually I don't think MS were expecting to sell 1M per month on the first year since that would be a really high pace. They probably have contracts with less speed turn around time, and maybe they started earlier or the contract had a clause for so many produced before launch.

And if we look at PS4 now selling around 120-150k a week and still supply constrained Sony may have the same kind of deal in place (less than 1M per month contract but a minimum for launch), or else we should think of supply tampering to ensure scarceness or they are holding to release a lot with the next big release (maybe TLOU remaster).

It's probably because we are coming into summer and console sales will no doubt slow down. It wouldn't make sense to keep making as many consoles during the summer as you we're during the holidays. I wouldn't read too much into it.

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

Yep that is the most possible. But do you think the contract already had this clause as I think or they had to ask for slowing down?

Dont they have like 500k consoles to sell? I'd stop production for a little myself. Thats a lot of consoles to sell when they've only sold a little over four million.

It's more like 1M (if shipped and sold are accurate)... but the article indicates they have 3M on the warehouse, and that seems preposterous.

This is all based on that misquote, right?

The only official word is that there's a lot of channel inventory. Production speed has never been mentioned.

The difference bewteen shipped/manufactured and sold is around 700k.
Which with the current pace will last for around 8 weeks or two months.
With the supposed yield issues i would keep producing to meet demand holiday season 2014

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

For me the whole article is based on assumptions and misquote... the only thing that could be factual is the call to dowsize made by ms executive (and even that could be misquoted).

If they have a lot of inventory, which is NOT included in shipped by the way despite what people here seem to think, then that would make sense.

But that IF depends on wether they are just using Patcher possible figures, I don't think MS was shotting to 1M per month until holiday 14. Sony probably wasn't as well if we look at their 5M for fiscal year 13.

Stupid article. People just can't wait to jump on every negative article on the X1. We have really no idea how this generation will play out looking at the crazy games market situation right now. But people are extrapolating their brains out with as little data we have so far.
