Forums - Gaming - Uncharted 4 Delayed/Rebooted to 2016??

Uncharted 4 is the perfect holiday PS4 system seller.

Why do we think that the game just started development ?

Uncharted 1 was released in 2007, Uncharted 2 was released in 2009 and Uncharted 3 was released in 2011, that's a 2 year gap in between titles, for all we know Uncharted 4 could have been in development for at least since 2012.

I believe Uncharted 4 is close to finished, hence why everyone is able to leave. All that needs now is polish and finishing touches.

E3 will reveal both gameplay of Uncharted 4 plus a holiday 2014 release.

According to Shuhei Yoshida, it's been in production since 2011.

3 people left a studio of, Idk a few hundred, and we are concerned? The game gets rebooted and delayed 2 years?
It's 3 people, it's not like the while studio left.

2016 is just ridiculous to even speculate to seeing as the teaser trailer came out in November. I don't think ND would release any announcement if they didn't have a fair deal of the groundwork done or planned out.

But no game is free from development problems, and Sony's studios have been having problems as of late. My guess is that the people did just leave for better jobs. Here's hoping to a November 2014 release!

More of just a teaser than a teaser trailer.  They showed literally nothing.

This is sony we are talking about.  They do like an early announcemnet.  It also co-incided with the PS4 release, call me cynical but that teaser was purely to push a few people over.

I'm sure Sony needed to announce Uncharted PS4 to sell some consoles. Lmao

Needed to?  No.  Did it help push some people into buying it early?  Probably.  Good business idea?  Yes.  Not sure why that makes you laugh...

Because even if they had not announced Uncharted, PS4 would have still sold out. So you're telling me they were desperate for sales, and therefore decided to tease an Uncharted game to push people into buying a PS4? Sony couldn't sell any more PS4's because they were sold out.

Also, an early announcement of a ND game isn't something new lol...Last of us revealed in December 2011 and it launched June 2013...2 years later

Uncharted 4 revealed November 2013...Launches 2015??

Do people believe that when a head of a section in a game company leaves, everyone in that section is just lost and confused?
From experience all that would happen is the assistant director would be in charge until either they're promoted or someone else takes on the role.

WARRRZZZ!

Where the fuck did I say they needed to?

"call me cynical but that teaser was purely to push a few people over."

You're implying that they announced it so that they could sell consoles...Even if they hadn't announced it, PS4's would have still sold out. Not sure what you're getting at here.

Yeah.

Thankfully Microsoft aren't doing that with their flagship series.

Push people over? Yes, because Sony needed to announce Uncharted PS4 so that they could sell consoles...Not like they would have sold out either way.

Precisely. They prematurely announced Halo (5?)...But whatever, this is off topic.

The Last of Us was announced about 20 months before the game effective launch, end they already showed "in-game" footage.
