"The E-shop sucks" Narrative Needs To Stop.

That's still around? It's been at least a year since I last heard such eShop misinformation.

Wow, what a modest person.

Thank goodness he's there to tell us who REAL gamers are.

what he means is "theres not much on it that directly competes with us, so we have a better chance of selling"

Yeah, sure. Launch a game with an emphasis on platforming on a Nintendo console, that's the kind of environment that has the least fierce competition.

Yes, their eshop is absolutely flooded with third party platformers right?

*yawn*, glad to see i struck a nerve.

why u wanna have a lot of games? 20 good are better than the 2000 candy crush clones on mobile devices.

its realy simple, just hardcore nintendo fans have a wii u atm, and most adult 3ds users are coregamers(other "gamer" are ashamed of the kiddy look). quality is king for those people. and the good indie companys can sell a lot of stuff because they have the perfect consumerbase.

sure, M$ and sony have coregamers too. but they have a lot more casual"gamer" than nintendo. if u are a casual u dont buy the wii u and u dont have a handheld, the smartphonegaes give u the "gaming"kick on the go. popular systems are just more attractiv for bad indie companys(that shouldnt mean there are no good indie companys developing for M$/sony consoles)

Woooooow you're really going to argue that less games is a good thing? Okay I'm done, lmao

Glad to hear he's proud of his success and happy with the community's reception to his game, but I feel like he should have more than one game under his belt before he starts saying stuff like this. He kind of seems like he's counting his chickens after one of them has hatched.

For what it's worth, judging by the sales charts and comments from developers like him, I do think that the typical eShop customer pays attention to critical reception and seeks out high-quality games. I'm not saying this isn't also true on other platforms (though I think most of us can agree that it's certainly not the case on mobile devices). But it's a great thing if developers feel that the quality of their game is the most important factor in driving its sales, that they don't need to have a AAA budget and major marketing support from the platform maker to avoid drowning in obscurity.

Some people like feeling as if they're a part of an exclusive club. :/

"the (customer) people who hang out there are laidback, knowledgeable and friendly"

Wait, the eShop is a chatroom?

Whatever gave them that idea?

"Wii U shot out the gates at speed"

Looks like we have another delusional Nintendo fan on our hands.

Lmao yeah, okay. I'll add that to today's list of console bias accusations.

I've made my bias (PC) crystal clear.

Excuse me for referring to the high initial sales of the wiiu with a modcrum of respect.

I've been here for years, so I've seen plenty of console fanboys say that their preference is the PC in hopes that that will make their opinions look less biased. I have a feeling that you are actually a Nintendo fanboy in disguise. They are usually quite easy to spot, because they own products that nobody wants. Like a GameCube, for example. Do you own one of those? Or better yet, do you own a special edition? Let's suppose you have an orange GameCube, then that would be a crystal clear case for what you really are.

Make your mind up. Or better yet, default to playing the "i was joking / you can't take a joke" card to avoid looking silly.
