Forums - Sony Discussion - If you want to get a Vita

(since I'm on this thread now)

Are there any cool emulators that work on Vita? I saw an amazing N64 emulator for PSP, so technically it should work because the PSP environment is fully recreated by the Vita when it plays PSP games. I'd love to play Mario64 on my Vita =D

You could always buy a DS and a copy of Super Mario 64 DS.

Wipeout 2048 is a must. One of the best racing games available so far this generation. And it's available "free" on PS+

Based on what you wrote, every other PS2 collection =P

Yeah that doesn't look so good eh!

Well, I LOVE MGS. Haven't played MGS2 since 2001 and I've never (shame on me) played MGS3. I thought GoWIII was awesome, so that collection is a no-brainer. I also missed FFX and I hear good things so...

I don't want to play Ratchet and Clank. I tried it on PS3, but I found it very kiddy and too simplistic. Jak and Daxter would've been awesome, but the game is broken and unplayable. Don't think there are any others?

I like original, artsy games. And hard, challenging games. The suggestions also refer to the 3G thing. Don't know if it's worth it.

It's not as bad as that. The first one chugs something chronic and the platforming is more difficult than it should have been (hard mode? haha) but it's still playable, too many people have platinums for it to be broken ;)

Jak II and III are much better.

There's also Sly Cooper Collection out soon. That's looking a much better port.

As for artsy and challenging games, you'll have to delve into the vast PSN catalogue. But there is an awful lot of lesser known stuff on the system.

Yeah I wouldn't be able to get off of the OLED now. It's too painful to go back to LCD.

Have you actually seen the LCD model? I kinda feel the same, but I've switched from an OLED to an LCD phone and it's not been as painful as I expected. Though I do miss black :(

So I figure the LCD slim model will at least be serviceable. Hopefully it does allow much better scope for a significant price drop to start kick starting sales or to bundle in with PS4s.

As for Mario 64 DS... no analogue ;p

You can fake it on a 3DS and pretend its there, its what I did for the 2 KH games

I would get one now while there are still a couple of the original model out. I've only seen 2 in stock. The original's screen is vastly superior, imo.

Also, even if you don't plan on playing it, it's sure to be a collector's item soon, so you could sell it for a huge profit in a few years if you wish.

There are 5 OLED vitas in the pawn shop down the street from me, they aren't going anywhere.... infact they seem to be multiplying perhaps it's a feature of the 1000 model.

Don't get me wrong, it's a fucking beautiful piece of kit, but I don't see them dissappearing from store shelves unless they're pretty much just put in the back room.

Why not check me out on youtube and help me on the way to 2k subs over at www.youtube.com/stormcloudlive

Hearts R has been confirmed localized! Buy a Vita damn it!!! Please.

I prefer the vastly improved ergonomics to the OLED personally.

If they're doing what they did in the UK, they've not been shipping OLED models in months (probably since before the LCD model launched in Japan) and have been clearing out OLED stock. The problem in the UK was there was an unexpected upturn in sales and so they had to get the LCD model out here sooner than anticipated.

At least it looks like that is what happened. You can still find some OLED models floating about, but they do seem to be drying up now. I kinda plan grabbing a 3G model to keep boxed up before it's too late.
