Let's see it this way for the non-doomers out there; The X1 selling less in US this month is about as doomy as if the WiiU would sell less than Vita in the month MK comes out.

So the Vita's near 4 digit sales and the Wii U's sub 100k sales are somehow equivalent to the Xbox Ones 311k sales?

Eh, wut?

Relations, buddy.

It's not about raw numbers, it's about supposedly great system sellers and pricecuts failing to sell many systems.

Selling 311k in any other month? Great numbers!

Selling less per week than the previous month despite the (supposed) biggest system seller of the year and a price cut that essentially makes it even cheaper than the competition? Doom.

Again, no we don't.

Last generation Assassins Creed, Mass Effect, Uncharted, Gears of War, and The Last of Us were all new IP's with zero previous games to judge sales on.  We have no idea what big new IPs will be born this generation.  One or more of them very well could come from MS Game Studios.

It is very likely that the PS4 will consistantly outsell the Xbox One for the forseeable future, but in year one its FAR too early to start calling something as bold as PS4 outselling the X1 every single week of the year. We litteraly have no idea what this generation is going to look like or which games will be the big players yet.

We do, Halo and Gears.  Ms does not exactly have a huge track record of building new Ips.  They rely on what works, like windows has for then for decades now.  Its their nature.

Two of those new Ips you mention were Sonys and none MS.  YAhh and one or more is much more LIKELY to come from Sony then MS studios.

We pretty much know the big releases for the next 2 years.  MS has HAlo5 Gears while Sony has UC4 GT7 next GOW.

Again though that's a bold ass prediction. What if Sunset Overdrive ends up being mind blowing?  What if Quantam Break releases and is incredible?

That's what I mean, people are used to being in established trends as the last 3 years for console sales have pretty much followed a strait path. We are in the first steps of a new generation with lots of new IP's coming.  Those two games could turn out terrible and do nothing, or they could be massive hits, and the next Gears of War for MS.

That's what my overall point is, people need to be ready for some epic twists and turns over the next few years, just look at how many curve balls got thrown to us last gen with sales trends.

Not that many after the initial groundwork was layed, honestly. PS3 caught up on 360 by virtue of its Europe+Asia market strength (which wasn't that difficult to predict) , Wii petered off early, PSP died in the west and got a second life in the east, and Kinect happened.

Again............................one more time.

I'm adressing the prediction of WEEKLY sales only being in favor of Xbox One during Halo week.

WEEKLY sales. All it takes is one game doing well like Sunset Overdrive for 1 WEEK to beat your prediction. Which is why I made the comment its too early to call something like that.

Why are some of you acting like I'm saying the One is going to come back and just start kicking ass and winning NA? I haven't alluded to that at all. The only thing I take beef with is the belife that PS4 will outsell the One every single week of the year other than 1 week.

That may be true, but at this point who the hell knows how individual games, or price drops will affect sales on a WEEKLY basis.

Hell we don't even know what the weekly trends will look like 4 months from now.

Sony has exclusive marketing rights to Watch dogs and Destiny, so take a wild guess whats gonna happen till September atleast.

Ps4 has more games coming out, PS4 will have the better multiplats.

PS4 will lead sales for the next 5/6 months eaily, is that good enough for you ?

It will take Halo5, thats a beast Sony cant match in NA.

Sorry, but this is now a ryuko/ryuuko appreciation thread.

In keeping with this new format.

Xbox's way:
Lost
Not lost

Man I knew going into week 3 of the month this was going to get crazy.

Titanfall week Xbox One was in the lead, but man Titanfall was a flash in the pan. Huge opening week and nice hardware boost and a big drop off. By the time Infamous release rolled around I wasn't sure who would win NPD, as there was a huge momentum swing in favor of the PS4.

Crazy stuff.

MK is the Wii U's last hope. Titanfall is not Xbox One's.

According to WiiU fans MK is not the last hope. According to X1 fans, Titanfall is not the last hope.

See a pattern here?

I see you trying to put Titanfall on the pedastal of a 22 year old established 1st party IP that's coming out 1 year and 6 months after a console's release, which it is far from. We knew Titanfall would sell great, but it was never a savior this early in a console's life.

Oh and since when does Vita = PS4 in any situation??

Not quite on the X1 doom train yet.

MS has lots of cards to play. However they cant afford to let Sony increase their momentum. Before you know it, the PS4 is the next 360. At which point the X1 becomes a failure.

I would remove the kinect, cut the price and give it a new marketing push with key new software like quantum break etc. The X1 has a solid games library they need to sell it.

The next 360? in the US you mean? I see no similarities between the PS4 and the 360. As someone mentioned, the PS4 is more like the PS2 at this stage.

In the US I already answered a similar question earlier in the thread lol
