lol...

They were playing catch up.

360 shipments for the first 6 months were 3.2m versus 5.1m for the Xbox ONE

The ONE is performing significantly better.

Launch yes... post-launch no.

Next quarter 360 did 1.8m... can't wait to see how Xbox One perform

Were you even around then? lol.  The 360 was murder to find even after the holidays.  You wouldnt know... being from Brazil.

Give me a prediciton for the ONE next quarter... go on... be brave.

I have no idea what it will be, but you seem certain.

Brazil only saw the first official 360 back in 2008 and that costed almost twice the currente Xone price here.

And there are people acting like the 9months delay on tier 2 countries was catastrofic to the Xbox brand.

The conference call said to expect a channel inventory draw down in fiscal Q4, although historically speaking that's usually the case anyway. But most likely that means no price cut/Kinect-less SKU at E3. In case it wasn't posted already:

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

I guess they want earn money first, console war later

I don't know if already posted but a rumor says MS estimated 1.2-1.3 million Xbone + 360 shipped next quarter.

The ban for Kowe was just not justified.

Anyway, great results as always. This is the quarterly reminder how great MS is doing.
VGC was always pretty accurate with their adjustments, but why do they refuse to adjust the Xbox 360? We are nearing 1 year (!!!) of supply on the shelves. That is just stupid and I bet the guys at VGC who are responsible for the tracking know that. A 2 million adjustment would be very reasonable by now.

Same for Kinect Adventures. VGC has it at 21 million TODAY, while MS reported 25 million Kinect sensors shipped 14 MONTHS ago.

I just don't get it.

This part I can help you... Kinect can be bought without Kinect Adventures... the windows package for example didn't have the Adventures.

A GAFer made a good sumary.

  • Xbox One sold in 1.2 million consoles, and Xbox 360 sold in 0.8 million consoles
  • Xbox One has sold in over 5 million units since launch
  • Xbox 360 sales exceeded expectations this quarter
  • Expect to work through some inventory in Q4
  • "In Hardware, we expect revenue to be $1.3 to $1.5 billion dollars in what is a seasonally slower hardware quarter. This number also reflects channel inventory drawdown for Xbox consoles"
  • Xbox Live transactional revenue grew 17 percent
  • 45% higher ($398 million higher) Xbox Platform revenue
  • "Xbox Platform cost of revenue increased $486 million, due mainly to higher volumes of consoles sold and higher costs associated with Xbox One"

A chart too.

oh come on.

The number of Kinect Sensors for PC is probably VERY low, like less than 500k and we are talking about a 6 million+ gap.

That drop in sales (to retailers) on the XBO is earilly similar to that of the Wii U albeit less severe.

Because they weren't supply constrained like PS4, 360, Wii, and PS2
