No he did not, he mention in one sentence that the "huge" MLB fanbase would pick up a PS4 for the game and you single handidly made the whole thread about this and the popularity of Baseball. You are derailing this thread and not anyone else, certainly not the OP who I highly doubt wanted to talk about Baseball or the Show exclusively in here.

Well he shouldn't have included the game it the OP then the game isn't system seller and never will be.

Duh, its about system seller which MLB The show isn't and never will be but some people are clueless when it comes to system sellers and the guy that started this thread is one of them.

This thread, is about software that will help push the PS4, it doesnt necessarily mean that any particular game must sell millions of consoles by its self, no, it means that it will just help be one of the many factors that people chose to buy a PS4 for. 

Now, what YOU are talking about is popularity of the sports, particulary in America, but also sometimes on a world wide basis. Either way, it is not what this thread is about. 

 

 

lets try something a bit simpler. 

on topic = good software PS4 will recieve

off topic = popularity of sports in america or the world

 

Accusing the Author of derailing his own thread by stating some points in the OP, doesnt make any sense. Nobody can derail a thread by making it. so looking back to the easy and simple points i made above, do you understand that YOU are derailing this thread?

Jesus Christ, this is hopeless. Fine, me and everybody else in this thread has understood by now what you're trying to say since you've probably said it about 15 times already:"The Show is not a system seller." Now do you anything else to add to the thread?

Your source being...your gut feeling?

MLB sells considerably more than NHL does (plus NHL is a MP...)

Let's put it this way: Everyone who wants to play the latest and best MLB games will choose a PS4 over X1. It's pretty easy to see that it's a system seller.

I guess you have no clue what a system seller is either a game that never sold more then one million units on one platform is not a system seller.  EA's NHL frachise is still a bigger franchise then MLB the show and that goes back to its beginnings on the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive.

why is the million seller condition just constrained to sport games? shouldnt all system sellers be able to move one million units of software?

I'm pretty sure MLB: The Show will sell systems. Over half a million people bought the last one on PS3 and now they can continue playing it on PS3 or upgrade to PS4 to play it. I think it will sell a decent amount of PS4s.
