Its weird that noone is mentioning the price of the SD cards. I heard those were a bitch to buy.

And probably is the number 1 reason why the Vita is selling poorly.

That's shit, I'm not buying something that doesn't even have enough memory for me to download a game's patch. My phone has way better memory than that.

Not having a memory card is probably understandable but the price of the memory card for its storage capacity is the one that turns off most buyers.

Especially, when you realize the card cost more than a game. -_-

For some reason Sony never corrected themselves on this. I doubt the manufacturing cost is still high not to massively drop the prices already.

It could have been saved but it wasn't saved. There is no point in crying over spilt milk. Those are good options but there is no use in trying to correct the wrongs from the past, it's gone!

Enjoy the Vita for what it is and hope that Sony can correct everything in the E3.

I bought a Vita around launch to play brand new God Of War and GTA games, not niche Japanese exclusives.

You bought a system to play games which were not announced or even rumoured to be in the works for it? at launch no less, how long do you think it takes to put together a brand new God of war or gta game, just for the Vita too since it is in a category of it's own in terms of power there is nothing else they could port games just for the Vita to to get extra sales the way they did with GTA liberty city and Vice city stories from the psp to the ps2.

Hopefully you've learned your lesson tho, never buy a system at launch if you want games which haven't been demo'd or shown even, you could be waiting years to get what you want, better to just buy the systems then.

GTA LCS and VCS were huge hits and so were GOW COO and GOS. I definitely expected a sequel to these if only to move more Vita's and please its fanbase.

I'd say in terms of GTA rockstar have their hands more than full right now with making sure the Next gen and PC versions of GTA5 are perfect and ready to launch, they're gonna focus on milking that game for everything they can before trying to please the vita's fanbase sadly

Rockstar North developed GTA V while Rockstar Leeds developed GTA LCS, VCS and CW. They haven't released a new GTA since the 2010 iPad version GTA CW. I wonder what they have been working on since that year.

could it be saved maybe even earlier than 2013 ? yes of course.
did sony wanted to save the vita ? I seriously doubt it.

the memory card thing was a not so great idea ... even the 3ds came with a small memory card included.
heck it could have been a 64mb inbuild memcard for savegames only.

but nowadays you can get a vita+6 lego games+16gb memcard+tearaway for 149€
this is what I'm gonna get.

I doubt there will be more must have games coming in the vitas lifetime, but with the already released games is has a good enough library for the 149€ investment for the hardware.
The only game I might looking forward which will release in 2014 is maybe the neptunia idol game.

By having more games..... Shocking I know!

This is no more insightful then saying by being better. The Vita probably has the same amount of games as the 3DS, but that doesnt touch on specifics like what kind of games these are, what genres, whether they're exclusive and who they are developed by... As opposed to suggesting that sony magically conjures up random games, the OP is saying that many of their investments into the PS3 in the last year were wasted and should have instead been spent on the Vita which really could have done with franchises like GOW and GT. Both of which are bigger then the likes of Killzone and are established IPs unlike Soul Sacrifice and Tearaway.

Yeah maybe some places have it with the 16gb or more recently they've started to ship it with that, but I bought that 10games which includes wipeout and LBP myself and it came with 8gb at the time but was a fair deal cheaper. I really just bought it for the game downloads since I have a 16gb card in my vita and just stuck the 8gb card on my shelf thinking of ebaying it at a point.

Would just advise people take a look around when getting those bundles then because there is clearly versions of them at retailers warehouses with everything from 4 to 16 gb cards, just be aware that when you're buying any size of card you have the option of basically getting 6-10 games free with it which if you don't own them completely cover the retail cost of the memory card.

http://www.toys.ie/PS-Vita-Lego-Games-Mega-Pack-!135379-prd.aspx

linked is the lego version of that too, just so people know there is tons of options of games available when you do get a memory card, those come as a psn token which gives you all 10 games btw, just incase someone was thinking they had game X and could they sell it on ebay but still redeem games Y and Z, unfortunately you can't.

If you look at the top 50 of PSP software you see that there are no equivalents released for any of those games on Vita except 5 (LBP, CoD, Hot Shots, Lumines,FiFa). If Sony wanted Vita to do well securing more would have been on their list of priorities. Only 10% of those titles and only 10% of PSP's sales hmmm.

The saddest thing is they didn't even try to get their own franchises that sold well on PSP onto PSV. If Sony doesn't want to put in any kind of work the system wont sell and deservedly so.

I think GT6 and GoWA would have still been compared to PS3 games and rated low irrespective cause that is what reviewers do to all Vita's games that come from existing franchises. Though the unique iterations probably would have helped sales even if they weren't reviewed as well.

Though you do have a point, I really think that saying that they didn't try is simply wrong. Didn't try hard enough.... maybe.

They gave us Gravity Rush, Tearaway, LBP, Uncharted at launch!, Wipeout (ok not that popular, but still), that golf game, Resistance, Killzone, Sky Cooper 4(?), several ports of collections and in a few days GOW collection. They even made Soul Sacrifice, due to the lack of Monster Hunter, which they promoted quite a bit. Now they're releasing Freedom Wars, which looks promising and may be considered an answer to Monster Hunter as well. They obviously tried. Sure, they should have done more, but saying that they let it out to die is just wrong.  Many wrong decisions, but seeing them getting a team to make (e.g. COD)/port (Mickey game) games to vita shows an effort to help it succeed.

I bought a vita today for 30 euros, must be a bad sign.

Yeah, it's robbed. A fairly bad sign is when you're buying stuff from the back of a hi ace down an alleyway lol.

It's not needs 2 new analog sticks easy fix, I would never buy stolen goods thank you!

Oh right... you brought a broken vita for 30euros? that isn't a bad sign, just that someone had the misfortune of breaking their vita but at least they managed to find someone who would buy it from them lol.

It was pure cosmetic analog wear, works perfect. I offered to replace the analogs for 25 euros, but he said that he son had lost intrest in it.
