As long as they forecast a profit I think Sony should low ball the forecast a bit to make sure they can announce an improvement on their position as the year proceeds. Not to say they should be misleadingly low, but in their estimates they should b err on the conservative side and this arrive at moderate numbers..

Sony desperately needed PS4 to be a good news story and it has been that. And even vita has been performing adequately in Japan and prevented it from being a total embarrassment. It's even doing OK-ish in Europe.

Looking hopeful, but Sony is still pretty fragile. They need the global macroeconomic picture to remain positive to secure long term improvement and sustained profitability.

I was checking out TVs for no reason other than they were there, the other day and they are still overpriced. Same for car stereos as I am learning.

What a load of good news for Sony. Keep marching forward.

As for Sony id like to see them turn things around. PS4 has been successful along with their banking (or whatever it is). I hope their other divisions can do something as well.

They need to get their smartphones and tablets into the US market. They are missing out by not being more prominent in America. They need $500 000 000 advertising blitz and to sign up with all the major carriers. The majority of Samsung and Apple profits come from mobiles and tablets. With Xperia Z, Compact, Z2 and Tablets Z, Z2 Sony have some remarkable devices! Need to be marketed in a major market where the profits are hugh

That guy is not very optmist as he should be.

Any way, without games, services and subscriptions I think the PS4 sales aren´t enouth to make that difference.

Kaz has cut Sony thin in the last 2 years (more than 20k layoffs). If the Japanease economy goes strong this year, and the Yen remain low there is a chance the new loan opportunity might payoff.

I wonder if they ever look at some threads when they visit this site, oh well, looking good for sony in 2014 after that huge loss
