Wii and WiiU were both stupid moves. But the Wii succeeded so by the law of semantics the Wii was bold while the WiiU is still stupid. If it succeeds it will be bold later.

Sorry but this a Great move by Nintendo releasing Super Smash around the holidays will probably make the system the top one of its gen. Releasing 3DS version earlier keeps the handhelds selling. Mario Kart 8 is more of WiiU seller any way.

I'd say the Wii like many others have said. Also the PS3's Blu-ray drive was bold, even though it hasn't taken over for DVD yet... I hope that day is not far away.

8 years later and it still hasn't, haha.

It made quick work of HD-DVD which was the main goal.
Blu-ray and dvd co-existing is intentional to keep the price of blu-rays at a premium. Get more money from the people that care for quality, while still making money of the crowd that doesn't want to spend that much.
