Months after release, Killer Instinct is finally starting to feel like a complete game, as a 6.8 GB patch begins rolling out today that adds an eighth character, new eight player lobbies, and an all-important arcade/story mode.
Fulgore has been one of the most anticipated new characters ever since the game's release back in November. Judging by what we've seen of him so far, he'll do well against characters like Sadira and Glacius, but may fall short against trickster Spinal.
As a fighter, Fulgore seems to play a little similar to Jago. He has multiple mix-up projectiles, eye lasers, dashes, and an 'area-relative' teleport. He's also different to all the other characters in that he has his own unique 'reactor gauge' at the bottom of the screen when he plays, which replaces the other characters' standard bar, used for shadow moves and such.
The reactor gauge can be filled by either charging manually, performing a triple double, or allowing a filled Instinct gauge to gradually top it up. Stay tuned for a more in-depth character breakdown in the not too distant future, as well as a closer look at the game's new arcade mode.
Thanks, Killer Instinct Central.
