It hasn't actually reached 6 million yet. It's at 5.969 million going off the charts. Front page is rounding it up. Your thread is one week early.

Muahahaha! Vgchartz against the U'Nited has won this battle.

Unless it is a slow week next week -  might be 2 weeks before we reach 6 million

What's so amusing is that the Wii U is only 2.1m away from having twice the installed userbase of the Xbox One...and Titanfall is slowing down and we're not too far away from seeing Mario Kart 8 being released.

It's possible we could see the Wii U and the PS4 having twice the installed userbase of the Xbox One before the end of the Summer. Mario Kart 8 is certainly going to shift units.

The thing is that whatever it sells 20 - 30 million units (i put 30 as max because if it passes 30 million units it will be a miracle) it is going to end third one or first beginning from behind, as you prefer.

Xbox is slowing down so much it sold 2.25x as much as the Wii U last week! At this rate, if you also add in the most successful console's sales, Wii U isn't that bad!

Xbox One sold 4 times as much as Wii U in the US, 2 times as much in Europe, and isn't out in Japan, where Wii U did over a third of its business.

I wish the Wii U were doing great too. I have my launch system and if it were super popular I'd get more great games. But I can't see why Wii U fans would mock the Xbox One's sales.

I'm not mocking the One's sales at all, just pointing out the irony that the Wii U was lambasted by everyone for selling 3.3m and that until recently (with the front page of the latest Edge magazine) nobody has mentioned how badly the Xbox One has been doing. It's been an outright flop in Europe so far, and in terms of worldwide figures isn't too far away from the Wii U's total this time last year (0.8m?).

It's had a sales boost due to a price cut and the release of Titanfall but Microsoft haven't got anywhere near the stable of system selling IPs that Sony and Nintendo have. I'm just surprised that gaming journalists haven't been reporting it with the same gusto that they have been with the Nintendoomed articles.

Microsoft needs to moneyhat a few titles or have some Megatonnage ready to drop at E3 otherwise the Xbox One could have some serious problems in the not too distant future, but of course that doesn't attract as many clicks as all these Nintendoomed articles.
