You try WAY too hard to troll. :P
Get a job... unless VGChartz is hiring you to make such outlandish threads for the clicks......
It's an easy, entry level vs game with popular characters. A lot of people also grew up with it, which kind of blinds them to how bad it really is.
The appeal is a personally attributed percentage of GAME, and the rest is Nintendo doing HYPE properly for once.
They really should get that marvellous Sakurai chap doing more big things in Kyoto.

One part of this post was phrased especially poorly. Can we point out which one?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
Nah, the game it's fun!
"This game has an identity crisis, Smash bros is half platformer and half fighter."
Identity crisis? Nah Smash started its own thing, its a genre by itself. Proof of this? Sony made battle royale and unfortunately didn't work as well.

That's not from Brawl itself, it's a hack. Lucario's dash attack has far more lag on it as does his fair. And extreme speed doesn't have a hit box... And they have Melee's stock counters... and those aren't available colors... and I don't think that stage is in Brawl...
Yeah! I also hate fun! Let's all play Cawadooty.
Seriously though, the appeal is largely in how easy it is to pick up and have fun with friends. It's a game that's easy to be good at, but very difficult to truly master, so it draws in all sorts of fans. The games also have a lot of replay value, so even though it's meant to be played multiplayer, playing through all the single player modes and unlocking all the levels/characters is a very satisfying experience.
Of course, being a Nintendo fan only makes it more fun, as the central theme is Nintendo's huge IP legacy. It's far away from being a requirement, however, as should be evident by most of the comments in this thread.

I cant stand PSASBR. I wont go into detail about it but the one thing the urks me (actually in general) is dlc, especially wen its only a month or two released after game is launched. You get 20 characters, no extras intill you pay for them each -_-
Im surprised it didn't sell all that well honestly, i thought it was a 3mil-4mil game
