Forums - Sony Discussion - Call of Duty 4 passes Resistance in sales.

Well it looks like COD4 is now the PS3's best selling game that isn't bundled.  So what do you all think it will top out at?

Great game - COD4
I was playing it too much - online play is awesome.
I sold it though cause I was neglecting my other games.
Don't miss it yet, but I'm sure I will

i got both. Resistance was awesome but the graphics now pale in comparison to COD4. if i were Sony, i would give Resistance a price cut down to $30 to get some more sales. Doubt it will happen anytime soon

oh yeah. sorry but i didn't answer your question in the first post. Im guessing it will top out at 3 million judging its still selling 40-60k a week.

I think Resistance will get back over 10k whenever Sony gets around to annoucing "Greatest Hits" for the US. Its still $60!

Yeah seriously, I am surprised Sony hasn't done a Greatest Hits run of stuff yet. They must be trying to maximize returns on software.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

COD5 is still a ways away.  Resistance 2 is set to release in November.  Resistance may or may not regain its lead over COD4 but whatever distance Resistance gets between now and November, COD4 will make that up before COD5 gets released.

I'd have to say that there will be a slight spike in sales when it becomes a Greatest Hit, but I don't expect it to get back above CoD4. That is a job for Resistance 2. R:FoM is good, but CoD4 is just plain HUGE.

I'll say just shy of 3 million. Maybe 2.9 million.

Captain Obvious to the rescue!

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
