I whole heartidely disagree.

Their are few if any games that could get away with this.

I believe the price is justified because of the 1.(time since the last MSG), not counting rising, and the time till the next official one. Not to mention that it was requested by fans, and uses an entirely new engine.

Gamers just need something to complain about. 2.(4th gen and lower games where hella expensive), people still bought them. Practically any other series that would try this would fail,  and honestly I would prefer this to waiting 7 years for this next game, FFXV was announced in 2006, we aren't even expecting it till 2015, thats eight nine years, I think thats a worse trend, then selling a game for 30 dollars.

If you go into the game with a demo mentality of course you feel like your going to get ripped off, you already decided that it was a rip off before you played the game. When I played it on my friends PS3 3.(I knew it was going to be short), but when I was playing the game I didn't even notice the time, I spent 2 hours on the first mission cause I took my time.

And if it increases the chance that the game won't go into development hell, I hope that this becomes a trend.

MGS PP was announced last year at e3, I got a taste of it in Q1 2014, FFXV was announced in 2006, I've gotten a rebranding, a bunch of trailers, an exclusivity loss, a please be excited, and not so much as a fcking release window. Tell me all about how MGS:GZ is setting a dangerous precedent.

1. By that logic, the Thief reboot, and Deus Ex: Human Revolution should've been way more expensive
2. This is a different age, and manufacturing costs aren't as high for each unit.
3. Like what Joe Vargas aka Angry Joe said: If I told you I was going to go to your house and commit robbery before hand, does it make it okay? answer is no.

Yeah 30$ for MGS is a sham. I rented it from Red Box (PS3) and did everything besides unlock everything in about 5 hours. It it a fun game but it should be 15$ and then I would say it is worth it

If that is the case you are too emotionally invested. I also must warn you that you probably get even more angry.

2, fair I'll give you that.

But at the same time, Theif is already being discounted, we aren't talking reboots, its not like the series dissappeared. MSGV has been anticipated for the longest time. Theif and Deus Ex do not have the kind of fanbase that MSGV and if they sould at 60+ they would've tanked hard. MSGV didn't have much in the way of dev costs because it was probably part of the og game obviously, but it does pay of the Fox Engine a bit, and makes it more likely that we will get Phantom Pain in the future.

As for the robbery example, typically I agree with Joe, but nobody is forcing you to buy the game, if you really don't want to spend 30 dollars on it watch a lets play on youtube or borrow it, by it used, rent it ($1 dollar redbox?). As for the "uninformed consumers" who will buy the game thinking its a full game, there are a lot more egregious examples of that even from last gen. Not to mention this is basically like Multiplater only games that are sold at twice its price. I mean I'm not even talking about Titanfall, since I haven't played it I can't critize it but how about MAG or Warhawk? MAG servers are down, while i can play MGS:GZ forever. The game is fun, length be damned, I'm playing a game not watching a movie.

I've said it before I've said it again, FFXV is the titular example, not to mention Duke Nukem. FFXV all I have is what I've seen and Its really hard to stay hyped for a game that was supposed to come out years ago. Duke Nukem Forever had a decade in dev hell, release and was sh1t, full price worthless gameplay. At least if I had an early demo, I would have known before hand.

Its a prologue not a demo, prologues aren't a new thing, seriously your making a mountain out of a molehill.

It's clearly worth for more than 500k people who bought not sure why so many haters want to beat it out.

Don't think it is worth? Buy a different game with your money and stop worring about "tendencies".

You can't generalize for the 500k people who bought it. The fact that this game is sold for $30 could be potentially dangerous for this industry, and saying something like vote with your money is just a horrible excuse.

Although I do think this game isn't worth $30, it is fun for what it is, and makes me excited for the Phantom Pain :3

What it is, is the best MGS game gameplay wise ever and its awesome. Also I would never buy a game that just released at $30 that I didnt know about... sounds like a crappy budget game =P

Fine I guess I'm making too big of a deal, and no need to worry about me lol, I'm cool :P

1) Just because a game has been anticipated doesn't make it ok to do this, worst excuse in the world. It's like if Sony just raised the price of the PS4 because they know people would buy it, does it make it ok? But my arguement is kind of null and void because I do love Atelier games >.>

I guess gamers shouldn't get too invested into something that isn't released because trusting companies is such a good idea

.....O_O It's only April!

Yeap... the best game this year... if they release something better than it will surpass it but it will be in the future... for now it is the best game of 2014 in my opinion.

I got it on day one and I haven't even finished it yet....and that is so sad.

Absolutely not. As a huge MGS fan it pains me to say that, but it's a clear cash grab.

I bought it on PS3, so I think it was worth buying it at $20 and not a cent more. Yes, the PS4 version has mind-blowing graphics and cloud physics, but I think it's not worth $30.

About those "mind-blowing graphics".... They weren't so mind blowing.  Looked like they'd be right at home on PS3/360 (though they'd be at the high end of the spectrum).
