Xbox One is home to the biggest entertainment and app partners who, alongside the best games and live TV experiences, are contributing significantly to the boom in Xbox One usage. Today, Xbox Live members worldwide are spending an average of 5 hours per day exploring apps, playing games, and watching TV on Xbox One.

Twitch on Xbox One has played a big role in the increase in Xbox One usage since the app added broadcasting on March 10. In fact, nearly 23 million minutes have been broadcast from Twitch on Xbox One since launch. This includes more than 2.7 million minutes broadcast from Xbox One March 10-11, the most ever for a Twitch console app in its first day. Additionally, 30 percent of all Twitch unique broadcasters were broadcasting from Xbox One during the app’s first day.

In its first week, 108,000 unique Twitch users tried their hand at broadcasting from Xbox One, accounting for 22 percent of Twitch’s unique broadcasters in the same period of time. To put that in perspective, according to Twitch, it took another console a month to achieve what the Twitch app on Xbox One did within its first week. New broadcasters are really getting into it, too, as the average Twitch broadcast on Xbox One is nearly as long as the average American TV sitcom at 28 minutes.

According to Twitch, “Titanfall” is the most broadcast game on Twitch on Xbox One, with members streaming more than 10 million minutes of the game from Xbox One to date.

“We have always considered enabling live streaming directly from consoles to be a key step in unlocking the ability for all gamers to share their experiences,” said Emmett Shear, Founder and CEO of Twitch. “Yet we never imagined the popularity would spread as fast as it has. Microsoft has really helped drive this expansion, and the great system architecture of Xbox One has allowed us to build a really great broadcasting experience with a robust feature set. We’re all very excited about working with Microsoft to continue rolling out new features on the platform.”

Because kinect is in every box. Features like this will always be better on xbox one because the devs of the app know everyone can benefit. I expect the social side of apps to be alot better on xb1. Less sales yet more twitch users. Good call microsoft. Your userbase isnt divided.

Kinect has nothing to do with broadcasting LMAO. You can broadcast on ps4 without a camera. Of course first day every will try it out and useage booms, same thing happend with PS4 months ago.

This is one reason why Kinect in every box was a good idea..despite not being too popular amongst many.
