It probably won't be Mistwalker seeing as how Microsoft got burned by them. The fact that Microsoft has a title in development with Access Games means that they trust them more than Mistwalker. Mistwalker was free for well over 3 years and we haven't heard of any big projects from them in a while.

I'm hoping its Mistwalker but you had the whole thing on twitter earlier in the year:

Microsoft Game Studio Honcho Phil Spencer had a bit of a slip today, as he responded to a question on Twitter on when he’d announce a new JRPG by Final Fantasy, Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey creator Hironobu Sakaguchi. His answer “Tuesday” created quite a stir, with several sites scrambling to report it as news.

The problem? Spencer was joking, as the fan that initially asked the question told to “humor him.”

"I didn’t see that. Guy asked me to humor him, sorry if it created noise. Didn’t pick a day/year. No announce this Tues, sorry."

"Now I feel like I’ve got to come up with something. Not really ready to announce anything right now."

Spencer also expressed his appreciation for Sakaguchi-san and his team, but unfortunately there haven’t been contacts with them in a while, which isn’t surprising since Mistwalker has been working on mobile games lately:

" I like Sakaguchi-san, doing BD and LO was really great. Apologies again if I created anticipation. I haven’t talked MW in awhile."

Despite that, though, he apparently didn’t lose the will to crack jokes:

"I better hurry up and call Sakaguchi-san today so we can come up with something.

PR would love it if I started creating news they have to fill just by throwing out days of the week."

Looks like JRPG fans will have to wait for another day to hear about Hironobu Sakaguchi’s return to home consoles, regrettably.
