Not exactly what he said though, and in PR it's far more about how you say something than exactly what you say.  If Sony had said that they think the DS has a different target demographic than their handheld offerings most people would have thought of that as reasonable even if they disagreed, but instead the Sony exec said the DS was a babysitting device.  Same thing here with Reggie, if he'd been more cordial and less flippant noone would remember the statement, but he wasn't.  

I don't think unmemorable statements are particularly good PR, either.

Oh I'm not arguing that he shouldn't have made the dickish statement, simply defining it as a dickish statement that could have been fine if worded differently.  Whether or not the statment was more beneficial than it's nicer less memorable counterpart remains to be seen, but is not part of what I'm arguing.

Nintendo already went full totalitarian in the 80s and right now they don't have the clout to pull a move like that in the home console maret.  Handheld sure, they almost have at this point, I mean they won that market back in the day with three shades of green, but it would be unwise to underestimate the mobile market.

In the 80s, it was whether you played Ninty or didnt play at all. Now its the opposite. Honestly, I wish XB just goes under Ninty as the Nintendo Xbox. Microsoft is considering selling the XB brand. It would be awesome if it were only Ninty and Sony. Ninty vs Sega all over again. Those were the glory days. Pumping out games and insults like there was no tomorrow. This is what we need. Nintendo survived a war against a company that had one of the most known franchises in the world: Sonic. 

We all know who would winin a Ninty vs Sony battle. Ninty because third parties will return to Ninty to make more money then it would all be about exclusives.I

Sorry to burst your bubble but i dont see nintendo acquiring xbox even if microsoft considers selling it. I doubt microsoft would even want nintendo to acquire them in comparison to other companies like apple, google, amazon, samsung and other huge companies that can consider entering the console market. Secondly, if nintendo continues to put themselves in a special position (if xbox division isnt there), it would be "Ninty vs Sony vs PC gaming", 3rd parties (probably aside from some japanese devs) would rather stick to  releasing on PC and maybe Sony (its not as if it isnt easy for them to release on steam or even mobile compared to consoles). As for the aggresiveness approach to sony and microsoft, it wouldnt be a good idea to do so most especially now. They arent having the best of 3rd party support and it may cause a serious backlash from lots of gamers. I think the aggresiveness should be in the form of more adverts, lots of new game announcements and quicker releases. If they cant do it now, they could try it with their next console

I'm not really sure of how Nintendo can attack MS and Sony. I mean sure their online is free but who's really using it? And I'm sure it's free because they have 8+ month old games still for $50-$60. While MS and Sony are getting enough money from their online subscriptions to give away free games and have sales on newer games for their 8th gen systems (See Thief and Tomb Raider on X1 and PS4)

It's not, 3DS has been selling between PS4 & XOne, and is only top selling console in a restricted kind view.  By the same logic the "PSP sold 80 million plus and still selling."

I'm talking 8 th generation ...if that's the case the ds is still selling and it's at 154,000,000 or the wii which is at 101,000,000 also is still selling if we are talking fiscal year April 1 to "march 31 2014 no console has sold more hardware than 3ds ...you see how numbers can be deceiving .....yes playstaion 4 and xbox one came out in nov but from nov until today 3ds still has sold the most hardware in that time period

Yes and it still validates my point. 3ds has sold more consoles in 2013 and since Sony playstation 4 and xbox one  has been out from nov until today ...people lie numbers don't so yes just to put this to rest  3ds ....is the true  console leader in this generation(8) has sold the most consoles in 2013 and has outsold  ps4 and xbox since their arrivals in nov..that is fact not made up look for yourself with the numbers you used for vgchartz...but I like the way you debated this and not sound like some fanboy more people should debate  like you just saying

that guy doesnt know what he's talking about, Ninty doesnt even had the capital to buy Xbox. Pretty sure Apple, Google and whoever else you named can outbid them
