Forums - Gaming - Nintendo should start attacking Sony and Microsoft

Nintendo has no need. they have their market, and they know their fans. Family friendly business will nt always be the most popular, but they will stand the test of time as they less prone to fads. Thats why nintendo is one of the oldest gaming companies out there to still be around.

you mean like motion controls...oh wait.

Less prone to fads, not immune. but they did capitalize on that fad to have money for a rainy day so they can with stand down times on their busineess and not run out of money like otehr gaming companies have

Agreed people would realize how alpha Nintendo is and be forced to buy the WiiU, sales thru da ruf.

Nintendo is not in a position to attack anyone. They released a ridiculously outdated console with a forced tablet controller that nobody cares about. There are many problems with the gamepad such as they are not sold separately so you can't use 2 of them on the same console and most games don't even utilize it such as Donkey Kong.

They have no third party support so Wii U is always going through a software drought. They don't have a real account system so if your Wii U breaks you lose anything you bought digitally. They still don't have standard features such as party chat or achievements/trophies or bluray/dvd playback that should be expected in 2014.

Nintendo didn't even have a E3 press conference last year. That alone shows how irrelevant the Wii U has made them. I bet they have already written it off and are looking to abandon it as soon as they finish releasing the already announced games. XB1/PS4 will both have great 8+ year lifecycles while Wii U will probably have 4 years at best.

fair enough, but what other game companies even attempted fads like that? ANd that whole this is double edged sword anyway. now people are expecting Ninty to do a WIi every gen and when they cant...we end up with a WIi U situation

I dont think common consumers expect a wii every gen. common consumers expect a console they can buy for their family and not worry about violence, sex, and adult orientated themes as much as the other other consoles or pc. Its far more family freindly than sony or microsoft. sega attemted many fads, and they failed because of it. Some are calling the kinect a fad, I dont think it is, but it may be. Sony and MS have pushed 3d, but it may or may not be a fad too. Nintendo is the only one who made a fad into a money success though. that I know of. I wouldnt call myself a nintendo fan, but i respect htem as a business and the decisons they make seem reasonable and smart to me. I do enjoy their consoles too, just not my first pick. Their current "fad" with the screen on the controller is why i'm getting one second after my xbox one and before my ps4. I like the idea of a second screen, and game with two screens on pc. and while the wii u is not the same as that it offers a similar experince, one I hope ms adopts with smart phone and tablets linking to the one. sorry if i got off topic.

My body is ready.

I don't hate Microsoft, I don't hate PC,
I don't prefer Sony, I don't prefer Nintendo.
...Ok, I love Nintendo but this is something about tolerance, ok?

I'm a gamer with one of the greatest hobbies and I want to share this greatness with everyone.

Given Nintendo's pitiful state with Wii U and 3rd parties, they shouldn't be taking potshots at anyone.

oh i think they do. Otherwise the WIi U wouldnt be flopping the way it is. So now that it is, what are these consumers that are buying systems for their "family" buying instead? Because they are not buying WIi Us.  My point is if ninty isnt doing something like the WIi then there consoles arent really moving.

i find it funny that people think they should attack SOny and MS with free online. Must be high. THat crap didnt work for SOny and the actually HAVE a respectable online. Thats going ot work or Ninty where the general consensus is still that they are miles behind SOny and MS in the online field? come on.
