Nintendo is not in a position to attack anyone. They released a ridiculously outdated console with a forced tablet controller that nobody cares about. There are many problems with the gamepad such as they are not sold separately so you can't use 2 of them on the same console and most games don't even utilize it such as Donkey Kong.
They have no third party support so Wii U is always going through a software drought. They don't have a real account system so if your Wii U breaks you lose anything you bought digitally. They still don't have standard features such as party chat or achievements/trophies or bluray/dvd playback that should be expected in 2014.
Nintendo didn't even have a E3 press conference last year. That alone shows how irrelevant the Wii U has made them. I bet they have already written it off and are looking to abandon it as soon as they finish releasing the already announced games. XB1/PS4 will both have great 8+ year lifecycles while Wii U will probably have 4 years at best.
