Forums - Sony - 1000+ self-publishing Developers now on Playstation

(1)Its a bit too early to celebrate. (2)Sony is known for lying through their teeth or misrepresenting the facts.
(3)Sony lists 100 games for this year, but majority of the games they have listed have extraordinarily dubious release dates. Some don't even have release dates at all, and Sony is labeling those games as 2014.(4) I mean, you've got questionable titles such as Minecraft, The Order 1886 and even Planetside 2. I'm just saying, folks. Take this news with a grain of salt.

(5)Now Sony is saying they have 1000 self-publishing developers on board. Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm not going to believe it until I see it with my own eyes.

1)For those with the system who are alreadsy enjoying the games it's hardly too early. For those who are looking forward to some specific games until the buy the system it might be early but there are pleanty of games coming.

2) someone already asked you to back this up, you might have that impresssion of them but, thats very different from saying the company is known for it.

3) they don't list 100 games for the year they say 100. In the sentence on the link it says including 4 watch dogs May 27th Elderscrolls online June 2014 Destiny Septemer 9th the 4th game listed The Order 1886 is the only game without even a month for the release,

4)How is minecraft questionable? The game is out and on many platforms, do you really think it won't be out before the year ends? you don't come across as just saying, you come across as very negative and pessamistic

5) They have "more than 1,000 developers licensed globally to self-publish on our platforms" That would be a very easy thing for them to prove a giant list. Maybe what you meant is that 1000 licenses doesn't mean there will be 1000 games for sure, or that they would be good. However I have enjoyed some of what has come so far from indies on there various platforms so I'm happy that there are that many out there who want to self publish.

Good. Then you cannot get angry if another person tells you that the PS4 has no games. You have already explained to us that it doesn't. I'm talking about retail exclusive games. The PS4 barely has any, and the ones they have are mediocre based on their scores on Metacritic. If Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze can bare a score higher than every single Sony retail exclusive, then there's a serious problem here.

It's a pitty that the PS4 doesn't have any games that suits you. Still, I'm glad that there are millions of other people who bought a PS4, because it suits them. We all got our differences.

But software sales are down. PS4 owners are not buying games. Herein lies the problem.

Oh man, you are really a downy aren't you? May I ask you why you hate Sony that much? Or am I just reading everything what you write with a negative tune in my head?

Once you entered you won't be the same anymore. A blog about life.

I don't care much for indie devs on all platforms so how many actual big devs have signed up? and how many great games are they making?

That's shows the difference in policies between platforms.

Congrats Sony.

Quality vs Quantity. I'll wait and see before bragging.

Doesn't matter. Never did, and hopefully it never will. No one is going to buy and play every game. And savvy gamers will buy the games that appeal to them. That's the beautiful reality of it all.

I've never seen someone so dedicated this early in their VGC careers. But you've got people pretty good.

You're a bit confused. I asked what the incentives were. You provided none. The issue isn't about what the previous generation provided. The issue is what is the current gen providing now. I own a PS3 and I'm quite satisified with it. I bought a PS3 because of the sheer number of exclusives it had. The X360 had very very few. GoW and Halo were definitely on my radar, but Sony won me over. Games such as The Last of Us, God of War, Metal Gear Solid 4, Little Big Planet, Uncharted and etc. I have no qualms with playing Sony exclusives. However, the games out for the PS4 now aren't killer games. They aren't the games that blow people away like Uncharted, Halo, or a 3D Mario. I'm not counting indie games, because I own a Wii U which utterly destroys both the PS4 and the Xbox One in regards to indie titles. Hands down.

My point is, the PS4 has nothing that makes it a better buy over the competition aside from being cheaper... Unless you can tell me something I don't already know.

And I said for you personally there are none lol. There is nothing of interest to you right now to make you get a PS4. Hence the reason I also said it would be better to wait until more games come out then make your choice. I thas only been 5 months give it some time lol. I just also stated that others felt that there were games out that interest to them. Which is not wrong. So we are good!

Actually no I did not explain that it has no games. Because it has PLENTY of games. I explained that is has no games that YOU prefer lol. That is like me saying the XB1 or 3DS or PS3 or 360 has no games because they have none that I prefer. That would be a false statement I don't get angry at people who say such things it just confuses me as to why the would make their opinion into a fact like it is the case for everyone.Kind of like you are doing right now...

And you are using PS4 retail games to fit what you want it to fit. Nothing wrong with that either, others see the "retail" games they have to offer plus the PSN titles that they have to offer and see "games" that they want to play. DKC:TF has also socred 2 freaking points higher than Infamous: SS not a big deal and also it scored higher than EVERY XB1 exclusive bar TF so does that mean it is a serious problem there as well?...no of course not. Also you are talking as if DKC:TF is a bad game when it is in fact a very good game.Or are games int eh 80s all mediocre? That is on you I guess and your personal thoughts. Wii U has all these high rated games you have mentioned and exclusive content but is getting the snot kicked out of it in sales(already passed by the PS4 and soon to be passed by the XB1) by two consoles with less games and less than 6 months on the market. So I guess all those "exclusive" games and high metas don't matter since it is not selling. Point being consumers don't look at the "retail" meta games they look at the games they want to play period. So again I hope it gets through this time for you personally there is nothing worth your time on the PS4 right now and there is nothing wrong with that. Heck others agree with you on that...then there are those who see the games they WANT to play on the PS4 and chose to get it...and there is also nothing wrong with that.

Also name me ONE freaking system that had many high quality(meta as you keep using) games in the first 5 freaking months? To have the games that they have THIS soon is amazing for the PS4/XB1. But you know what this conversation is now pointless not sure what you want to hear or see but I will leave you to it and your opinion and I will stick with mine so no big deal I guess lol.

1) Plenty of games? I was referring to exclusive retail games. How many exclusive retail games does the PS4 have? Would you call that plenty?

2) Look, man. The Wii U has little to no 3rd party support. I can tell you that with an honest face. With no indie games, the Wii U's library looks to be pretty sparse. I can admit that. Why can't you admit the PS4 has very few exclusive retail games? Why run around the point and point out useless information?

3) As for your comparison of DK:TF to Xbox One games... The point is that the PS4 has very few exclusive retail games. Exclusive games is what sets a console apart from its competition. This was my point since the beginning. I grabbed a game from the Wii U's library that _nobody_ asked for and compared it to every single exclusive retail PS4 game to date. That game scores higher. Why? Do you get what I'm saying here? DK:TF is more of an incentive to buy a Wii U than Infamous: SS is to buy a PS4. Does that sound right to you?

4) Now you're talking about sales. I never mentioned sales, but OK. I'll bite. The PS4 is selling very well. This is true. However, the PSVita is not. The Wii U isn't selling very well, but the 3DS is. Of course, sales alone isn't what makes a console manufacturer successful. Making money is. Currently, Sony is not making money. So, no matter how many PS4s Sony sells, because Sony is broke, it's kinda irrelevant. Also remember that Sony loses money on each PS4 sold.

5) Name one freaking system that received many high quality games during its first 5 months? The Dreamcast.

1) No. I'm saying it's too early to celebrate because Sony is filled with liars. Plus, the list is mostly multiplats and indie games. Many of the games on the list ARE even coming to the Wii U.

2) Because I figured this was pretty obvious. Sony promised 1080p/60fps gameplay, and we're not getting it. Sony promised amazing graphics and we're not getting it. Sony promised a ton of games at launch, and we didn't get them. This isn't something new. Sony has been doing this for years. Of course, the list of lies don't end there.

3) It says 100 games for 2014. Maybe you should check it again.

4) It's questionable because it's a TBA game that was once a Microsoft exclusive. We know next to nothing beyond that. For all we know, it may not come out this year or at all. Why? Because it's a TBA release date.

5) That would be very easy for them to prove... So, why won't they? Nintendo has countless times.

Umm... These are facts, my friend.:
http://www.vgchartz.com/platform/69/playstation-4/

You see that list? The PS4 has outsold the Wii U and hasn't sold a single game past 2 million? Only 6 games on that list are over 1 million. I can understand why the Xbox One may not have games over 2 million since it has a smaller userbase, but for the PS4, there's no excuse. According to VGchartz, Both the Wii U and the Xbox One have a higher software ratio than the PS4. I'm very sorry to bring this hurtful news to you, but facts are facts my friend.

5) That would be very easy for them to prove... So, why won't they? Nintendo has countless times.

1.) What has Sony lied about?

2.) Where did they promise such a thing [for all games]?

3.) Why is 100 games so unbelievable?  It's not a super great number.  It's a pretty okay number though.  Just depends on the tier of the games released.

4.)  I see no reason it won't be.  It's already on the PS3.

5.) What are they supposed to do?  Release a list of every developer?  All of these are indies.

1) I'm actually pretty surprised that people are ignorant of Sony's lies. They lie quite a bit. Here's a link that goes over one of many of those lies:

http://news.yahoo.com/sony-shamed-lying-playstation-4-owners-164047780.html

Here are a ton of other lies Sony as told in the past:

http://www.wired.com/gamelife/2013/02/sony-ps3-promises/

2) Right here:
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/436467/killzone-shadow-fall-supports-native-1080p-at-60fps-says-sony/

3) The 100 games include multiplats and indies. So, it's not a true list of 100 games more than it just being a list of games coming out for all systems.

4) Uh huh

5) Take it with a grain of salt my friend. Don't believe everything Sony tells you.
