Wii U is cheaper too and has much more games. It's not really all about the price I think.

Then you have to add 60$ back to get the Gold service to play the game that's bundled in the box... and an infinite amount of remorse when you notice your games run in low resolution and frame rate compared to PS4 games... adn well, you are also not having as many games released on the shininy new system.
And well, if you want cheap + tons of games, get an old PS2 or game cube, maybe even an original xbox, they're pretty cheap now and most games are like 5$ a piece on them! that will save you a lot of money and people will believe you are honest when you say resolution does not matter.

Again, "a valid point for some." Console gaming has evolved more and more to the point to where it's becoming less likely that console makers cannot relying on that one "big" feature to attract consumers. You have to nickle and dime your userbase/marketshare by having more to offer. Different combinations of features of the same product will appeal differently to different people. I think in terms of the variety of titles, this helped pushed the PS3 sales past the Xbox 360 later in its life. Sales of the PS4 has been higher than that of the Xbox One. I don't think that being online with the PS4 was a major factor that helped it outsell the Xbox One, but it's one of the factors that helped it worldwide.

But what if resolution doesn't matter and you just want to play new games online with better controllers and stuff? There's more to 7th gen/8th gen than resolution, right?

I agree with the "what if resolution doesn't matter to you" part.....but the play new games online with better controllers and stuff is personal opinion....which is also fine lol...
The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

Ah, but this is Microsoft. They don't feel successful if they can't annihilate the competition.

But the XBox One has better games than PlayStation 4 ;)
