Forums - Gaming - The Xbox One is now cheaper than the PS4

Recent pricedrops have lowered the XBO to $450 with a free $60 game bundled. That basically puts its value at $390, ten bucks cheaper than the PS4. Will this improved value lead to XBO taking the lead in March NPD, or will PS4 continue its winning streak?

I don't know if this has been pointed out yet but... $450 + $60 is $510 not $390 :-p

ps4 with game would be 460 so still a $10 difference in value more or less...

however, you can get a ps4 and nothing else and have at least 3 games of the bat... MMORPG, FPS, and a FPSRPG

Great. Now people can finally see that it's not the price holding the X1 back.

You know, I was thinking the same thing.  Without a doubt the cost of these recent Xbox One deals will spur Xbox One sales, but for how long and will it outsell the competition.  And does it really matter to outsell the competition?  Microsoft just claimed that they are in this to win, and there in nothing wrong with that in and of itself.  My question is what it is they are trying to do to win is the real issue?  I don't care how cheap something is as long as it's something that doesn't offer what I want, I do not want it.  Any product I own and want doesn't have to be the number one selling item in its market.  It just has to be the one that caters to me.  For the consumer, it's better to create and market a profitable product for the consumer instead of being "in it for the win."  So let's see how well the Xbox One will sell from this point on with these bundles and pricedrops.

In it to win it. Hmmm maybe just to stay profitable. I remember i bought the Dreamcast(R.I.P.) it most definitely catered to me but that was not nearly enough. They were in it to win maybe for that number 1 sold spot but were losing money and not achieving either. They failed miserably i had to abandon ship on a great console. I agree with your post overall. In this case it would have been great to be number 1 in the market.

I remember the good old days of the Dreamcast...perfect name for an amazing machine! ANd yeah they were losing moving big time but they were never as BIG as Sony to begin with. And while SOny is still currently in teh red they are doing more things right with restructuring and everything. And it seems that the Playstation portion is in the green if I am not mistaken. But I hope as a company overall the recover soon.
