Forums - Sales Discussion - France - interview with NoF president - sales info

here's an article from Lemonde.fr, french newspaper, interviewing the NoF president.

 http://www.lemonde.fr/web/article/0,1-0@2-651865,36-907086@51-886104,0.html

main points:

- LOZ: TP sold more than 240 000 copies in France only...

- He announces a 50% increase in WW production in the next weeks (can he be the new perry kaplan of france? i hope not)

- he explains that the wii shortage is due to the (in)capacity of the factories to manufacture the processors in sufficient quantity.

the next article on the site explains also that NoF sold 144 000 wii in the first trimester of 2007 and 260 000 DS.

Around the Network

doesn't say specifically, but since it is a very wii-oriented article, with no mention of GC, i would believe he meant on wii only (or he tried to make us think that way...)

A 50% increase from March levels seems reasonable.  It seems like they were making 883,000 per month in 2007 through March.  Then capacity increased to 1.25 million or so per month in late April, which is why Wii sales have been higher in Japan & America since mid-late April.
