Forums - Nintendo - Anyone have a "WiiU Gamepad Not Connected" issue with their WiiU?

Tagged games:

Would it be my router though if its not an Internet issue? It won't stay connected to the WiiU console. It is right next to my Xbone, but its been fine for weeks until yesterday. I did try unplugging it for like 10 minutes, will try longer tonight. Thanks for the replies.

Yeah so I unplugged it for like 10 hours while at work today. Same issue now when I got home. If I stand up and hold it right in front of the WiiU it works great. The second I turn away or take a few steps back, connection unstable message pops up. Guess I will give Nintendo a call later today.

So I tried moving it to a new room and everything, no dice. Called Nintendo, some lady walked me through resyncing the console, doing all the shit I said I'd already done. Gonna ship it back to them. It's only about 3 months old so I guess the repair is free unless they find some physical defect.

It's just a defect in this system. It happens nothing is perfect. I had an issue with th system as the disc was scratching inside. I called Nintendo they gabe me a free shipping order and fixed it free of charge. Also updated my system with all the new updates. Nintendo is the best company.

Well it took forever but it's finally in their repair center or whatever. Supposedly anything not caused by misuse will be repaired free. Anyone have any experience with this? I wonder if its a quick repair turnaround like the 360 RROD where your console was basically shipped back out the same day.

No, but I have a "WiiU Gamepad Underutilized" issue with Nintendo.

Seriously though, I've never had this problem when in proper range of the console. Hopefully all is well when you have it returned to you.

Regarding the shipping/repair experience I've only ever needed to fix one of my DS systems several years ago when the touch screen's functionality went out of whack. Honestly, I think I may have damaged it myself due to it banging around in my book bag but it was registered and still under warranty and they still sent me a refurbished model for free.

I'm having this message pop up intermittently while playing on the Gamepad screen since the most recent update. It usually only pops up for a split second and then the game resumes though. I don't know what it could be.

I play my Wii U for hours daily. I wonder what is wrong with your under-utilization issue?

When googling the error it seems to come back with a reponse that the main issue is lack of games worth playing =P

No, I mean the Gamepad functionality being underutilized.  And I don't mean by forcing gimmicky functions into games where they don't belong (ala 3D World), but instead, games that are totally built around its concept.  In other words, I'm still waiting for Ninty to show us all why they went with the Gamepad idea in the first place.
