Well done review Jay. Question though, why do you only use three categories? usually you would have like five or six criteria wouldn't you?

Gameplay
Graphics
Sound
Story
Content
U.I.

I'm also not sure why you would choose artstyle over graphics?

Ive changed my scoring a lot since i first started doing this.  I no longer do genre specific categories because i felt that they were hindering the scores too much by inflating them or decreasing them too much. And because this game doesnt have a singleplayer i didnt have a 4th category,  just like i dont rank a multiplayer category in games that doesnt have multiplayer.

I use artstyle the majority of the time including Far Cry, Halo,  etc  The only time i ever use the word graphics is when a game is going for photo-realism like Ryse or Crysis.

Either way i pretty much rank them the same as one or the other, just different wording is all.

Anyways thanks :)

I'm curious how you got the 8 for content.  You mentioned the sheer amount of maps, but I thought there was only 15 maps?

If there's 15 maps that's more than there are in most FPS games.

Good review Jaywood.

no. FPS at least the ones that TFs own creaters where apart of CODs had 15+ maps also, aswell as a campaing and spec ops missions

The key word there is most.

Killzone Shadow Fall only launched with eight maps, Killzone 3 only has eight maps, Killzone 2 only has eight maps, Battlefield 3 launched with 9 maps, Battlefield Bad Company 2 launched with 13 maps, etc.

wrong thread....

I don't remember. Did M.A.G. get this much hate back in the day? People seemed to be excited for an online only game back then. Nobody ever seems to mention Burn Cards in these things.

I wasn't on this forum back then, but at least at german forums (4players.de, gamepro.de and others) MAG did get indeed a lot of hate for being MP only. I don't get it though. There have been plenty MP only games in the past all the way back to Quake 3 Arena. If the games are good, I don't think it's too bad. If you don't like MP, well, just don't play the damn game. There are more than enough alternatives.

I dont remember MAG getting criticized at all but i do agree with what youre saying

No i dont remember MAG getting a lot of criticism nor any other multiplayer games.

As for burn cards i rarely use them personally as i forget about them in the middle of a match

Good review Jaywood.

Cod has 15 maps and that has a real single player and a co op mode, I guess that should get a 15/10 for content.  When you consider this is online only 15 maps really isn't that much.

lol your attitude. Really didnt feel like explaining anything but since youre going to be rude about it.  15 maps at launch for a game is a lot regardless if "1" other game had that many.  Adding that the maps are so well done, as i mentioned some of the best maps ive seen on any game it adds to the quality.    The content easily pushed me to 50+ hours worth of gameplay according to TA and im still going.  Funny thing is ive only played maps like Angel City (beta map) 3 times since the release because a wide assortment of maps.

For now on ill make sure to rate every singleplayer only game with abysmal content for the lack of multiplayer and co-op. According to you that means they dont have enough content......

Your using the logic that long play time=lots of content,  according to you someone could say that Ground Zeroes is a 9/10 for content for 50+ hrs cause they played the same thing over and over......

Im pretty sure that people are explaining it as a game you can beat in less than an hour(my friend 45 minutes) and side missions can last up to 6 hours or something.  A game that feels incomplete and more like a demo. Multiplayer games dont work like that (you dont even appear to be into mp games) and im not going to explain myself any further.

Okay...your playing the same thing over and over in both situations, with minor changes, but if you say its different then thats good enough.
