What will you do when gaming is all or mostly digital?

Master race all the way. ... 7 13.21%

Primarily PC. Will get c... 16 30.19%

I'd rather support dying... 27 50.94%

With more and more high profile developers opening their own studios and going completely mobile or going digital only, the time where most or all games going all digital might not be too far off.  Next gen at the earliest we could see almost everything digital.  Will you still support consoles?  Will you go PC exclusive?

I like owning physical copies of games so if most everything I'm interested is in goes digital, what's the point in getting a console version when my PC could run it better?  Also, why bother purchasing something digital for a console that I'd have to get replaced in around 5-10 years anyways?  Why not buy it digital for my PC since not only will the game have better performance, but I also won't have to replace my PC when another gen comes out, essentially making everything PC backwards compatible?

The only thing we'd be missing going to the master race is the exclusives that the PC doesn't get.  Most Japanese developers are still exclusive to consoles or portables, and with Playstation or Nintendo getting more of the Japanese support, which I'm interested in, Playstation and Nintendo consoles will be my secondary consoles during this time.

What about you guys?  Think the all digital age is almost upon us?  Are you going to primarily be part of the master race when that happens?

I think I made a great decision to hold on to my old game systems. It would prob just be PC for me.

I tried buying digital, and got cock blocked when the network wasnt up. So that shitty experience is what digital means to me.

I think I will support dying technology. Don't know... gaming just loses some of it's 'charme' when I can't open some packaging anymore.

I don't see how digital only games translate to consoles vs PC.
Digital games don't change the pros and cons of each one bit.

I will always belong to the multi gaming system master race.

If shit goes all digital prices need to drop, simple as that. I refuse to buy a game thats only digital if they charge me a full price rather than a discounted price. The only exception Ive ever made for this was Miku on Vita the other week because MIKU =D No but seriously holy shit Miku made it to the west O_O

It'll be awesome. When I die, I hope they can shoot my persona into the internet and give me virtual space to live and be able to play all the games I have digital rights to. Physical copies will be useless.

I hope consoles never go all digital. Being able to buy console games at retail is one of the things I love about consoles. My internet is capped and downloading a 40 GB game would take way too long. I think retail and digital will co-exist. I see no reason it has to be either or. Those who want to go digital should be able to and those who want to buy at retail can do so.

Also, being tied to one digital store seems restrictive. On a PC you can buy from Steam, GOG, Green Man gaming. Hooray for choices!

Then I guess I'll go digital. PS+ and $5 sales style, most likely

When everything is all digital it gives more less of a reason to own consoles.  No physical packaging, PC games that you purchase digital can be played on your one PC(or multiple PCs if you own more than one) while next gen consoles won't be able to play most of those digital games unless they're ported, and if they are ported you'll have to purchase the game yet again.

Yes, but that changes the game how? This has always been the case. Consoles and PCs are still gonna be both valid choices as they are now.

Until of course people figure out that you can hook up a PC to a TV.
