Forums - Gaming - Disappointment for Titanfall sales?

It does relate to my enjoyment of rpgs.  If you can cherry pick the US and UK for your justification, I can cherry pick the enjoyment of rpgs.

I'm not talking about jrpgs. I'm talking about the general impact of geographical regions as a whole on the market we're discussing: the PS and XB home console space.

In that realm of competition, the jrpgs represent a very small portion of sales, and so are mostly irrelevant, especially if you mention the PSP and DS. It has nothing to do with what we're talking about.

In regards to the US and UK.  Cherry picking.

PS4 selling is beside the point. X1 sales and Titanfall will do more then fine

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

If it is true, then the console war is over.

Call it cherry picking, I'll call it apples to apples.

The difference between you and I in this discussion is that I have a point, you don't. So, you like jrpgs? Good stuff. It doesn't change the fact that, worldwide, they matter nothing to either the PS4 or XBO.

You cherry picked the US and UK because in those particular countries, the Xbox 360 sold the best there and you're fantasizing the same in regards the Xbox One.  Different console generations, different fruits, NOT apples to apples.

I'm fantasizing...

Can you demonstrate the importance of jrpgs in the Playstation and Xbox home console markets over gen 7 (PS360)? I'm kind of getting bored.

Hey man it's all cool. But I will say that the plethora of rpgs later in the PlayStation 3's life cycle helped push its sales past the Xbox 360. And for the record I cannot stand Final Fantasy since X.

That website doesn't look very reputable

Is it as good as I hoped it would be? Yes.

Did it sell enough to ensure there's always people to play against? Yes.

Do I give any fucks about anything else regarding Titanfall? No.

So no disappointment here.

Once the 360 version comes out sales are gonna skyrocket

Hopefully, i have a few friends who are stll on 360, who don't really keep up on gaming news, that thought Titanfall was only on Xbox One. They haven't really marketed the game for 360 at all. I'm sure it will do well, but i also assume there are more uninformed out there.

I never played any since X, so I guess that's close enough to agreeing. :P

I don't think it's really important what may have pushed the PS3 past the 360 if it's only 2% of the total sales, despite the timing. What matters is the 98% of sales.

Also, what jrpgs were so important, can you name a few titles?

Sorry for budding in,

If you guys are talking about 7th gen then I believe Japan is worth around 10% of PS3's total sales. And that's with huge decreases of Japan releases than the 6th gen PS2 era. As for what jrpgs were so important I'd start with FF-13 which moved quite a bit of PS3's.

Take out the UK market and we would still see regular releases of every title worldwide except for maybe football (soccer) games but with lower sales obviously of home consoles and software.

Take out the Japan market and we would be without soo much more than just sales, we'd lose a videogame culture as well as the PS and Nintendo family, FF, DQ, MH, Pokemon and many others.

Also isn't even Germany now a bigger gaming market than the UK?

Just because Xbox sold well in UK but sold bad in Japan does not make UK bigger than Japan. Xbox does not = the market.

Having said all that I still agree that America is the biggest market.
