You cherry picked the US and UK because in those particular countries, the Xbox 360 sold the best there and you're fantasizing the same in regards the Xbox One. Different console generations, different fruits, NOT apples to apples.

I'm fantasizing...
Can you demonstrate the importance of jrpgs in the Playstation and Xbox home console markets over gen 7 (PS360)? I'm kind of getting bored.
|
Hey man it's all cool. But I will say that the plethora of rpgs later in the PlayStation 3's life cycle helped push its sales past the Xbox 360. And for the record I cannot stand Final Fantasy since X.
|
I never played any since X, so I guess that's close enough to agreeing. :P
I don't think it's really important what may have pushed the PS3 past the 360 if it's only 2% of the total sales, despite the timing. What matters is the 98% of sales.
Also, what jrpgs were so important, can you name a few titles?

Sorry for budding in,
If you guys are talking about 7th gen then I believe Japan is worth around 10% of PS3's total sales. And that's with huge decreases of Japan releases than the 6th gen PS2 era. As for what jrpgs were so important I'd start with FF-13 which moved quite a bit of PS3's.
Take out the UK market and we would still see regular releases of every title worldwide except for maybe football (soccer) games but with lower sales obviously of home consoles and software.
Take out the Japan market and we would be without soo much more than just sales, we'd lose a videogame culture as well as the PS and Nintendo family, FF, DQ, MH, Pokemon and many others.
Also isn't even Germany now a bigger gaming market than the UK?
Just because Xbox sold well in UK but sold bad in Japan does not make UK bigger than Japan. Xbox does not = the market.
Having said all that I still agree that America is the biggest market.
