I have never had a pokemon game, but i am kind of looking at x and y. I have a question, people always refer to the two games as the same game. Are they just the same game? If so... Why release two of them?

Theyre basically the same game but they have a few pokemon that the other version doesnt.  And in some cases the story is minorly different.  Either way you should def get one or the other, amazing games :)

The 2 version aspect was Game Freaks way to promote tradin.
