Anyone who's interested in these types of games is going to have one of the other systems, and they're going to see no reason to wait for a later Wii U version. So no, it wouldn't make up for anything, the game is going to be a miserable failure just like every other Wii U port, and frankly I'm surprised Watch Dogs is even being released on the system. Simultaneous launch might have been SOMETHING, but now there's absolutely no point.

Bloodbath Paddy Wagon Ultra 9
Its all about Lego City Undercover baby!! One of the most underrated games of 2013, its open world with tons of vehicles and collectables...seriously cool game.

To be honest (that's right, honest), "The Godfather" was a better game. EA fumbled the ball with that one with cars appearing and disappearing in your face. Walking through walls. I couldn't play the game that way and sold it before I beat it. I learned long ago with the choice, either GTA or Nintendo. Guess which one I chose?
edit: I know this has nothing to do with your post. I just wanted to say I thought that game was also better then GTA.

Well both versions are still on the top 20 on a weekly basis, not yet is teh answer to your question.
OT: I think Watch dogs will be a smashing success on the wii U if they put in a free mario skin dlc and other mario related items in the game as easter eggs

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.
For one thing, it has never been 100% (to my knowledge) that Wii U will NEVER be getting GTAV. PS4 and Xbone haven't gotten it yet either, so Wii U getting a port of the PS3 version is totally see-able, it's all up to Rockstar.
But does Watch_Dogs make up for it? That's a tough question. They aren't really the same type of game. They ARE so-called "open world/sandbox" games. But it's not as if Watch_Dogs is just a GTA clone, ala Saint's Row.
I doubt it. They will get an inferior content, and Grand Theft Auto games are on of a kind, they are above everything.
I already accepted the fact that gta isn't coming to it. The fact that this already launched killed most of the hype about it, so i don't feel like the only one not playing that. About WD, i'm waiting fot it, but i'm not entirily sure that will come. But the only way that people forget about GTA is if WD really outshine it.
"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

Well, I wouldn't say that.
Lol, getting Watch Dogs in GTA's stead is like getting Playstation All Stars instead of Smash Brothers.
