Get real, this comparison is bull shit and you know it.

I dont think resolution has anything to do with your ability to see lighting effects. You are trying to throw dirt in peoples eyes but its about as obvious as when Ubisoft was trying to say Watch dogs wasnt downgraded.

Yeah, they arent the best comparisons, i will grant you that, but i think the downgrade to the lighting is obvious. Not to say the game doesnt look great. It does. The lower res images do look nefarious in intent, so i understand your indignation.

Very well then.

I'll reserve my judgement till I play the game or see how the shadows look under similar lighting conditions. IF the game truly has night and day conditions, it shouldn't be that hard to compare a game play scene from E3 with one in the retail game.

I remember walking into a Gamestop and two of the workers there were arguing about a which version of NBA 2K13 looks better: XBOX 360 or PS3. I stood there and listened to them go on and on with neither of them staking their case for a winning argument. I finally chimed in and said: "So, if you're playing it on XBOX and you're playing on PS3 then you can't even see the other console so what does it matter?" Honestly? Yes things have changed by doesn't it always go this way for almost every E3 build vs. retail game? They probably build a 2 minutes reel for E3 and max out their resources to make it look the way it looks but then reality hits when everything else has to be thrown in. Now, who's not going to buy this game basely solely on viewing these pictures?

Rejoice! As if by divine intervention the E3 lighting has suddenly returned to us! It's almost as though the time of day effects how the lighting is presented :P

(I couldn't find a leaked shot taken during the same bright sun time as the E3 pics above, but it gets the point across).

Dat compression though.

Indeed, sadly that cant be avoided (the screenshot function on the PS4 tends to over compress), but it gets the point about the lighting across. You could almost say it's night and day between this shot as the supposed downgrade shots ;D Heh heh heh (i'm so sorry).

More lighting downgrades

Sony has been lying to us and we didn't even know

When will their reign of tyranny end?! D:

Seems like a more stylistic change than technical I think. I like the warmer feel of the retail lighting, E3 lighting looks way bright. Though I can see dialing down the lighting can mean having to do less with the shadows. And most of the enviro changes seem like adding further detail, esp more foliage. Of course changing time of day means light coming from a different direction, so that explains why some surfaces are lit up in E3 shot but in shadow in retail shot. But there must be actual game / cut scenes in mid day full sunlight so that's where the comparisons need to be.

Who really cares about downgrades in cut scenes anyway. It's how the gameplay looks in comparison, and I think they didn't show any gameplay until they were ready to show it on the retail version, which is smart, no disappointment that way.
