It doesn't matter the type of achievements he got if it adds up to 1 million points. There are no 1000 point achievements, retail games are 1000 points. I'm sure he has a shitload of completed games (Platinums).

It's a symbolic thing. Getting a trophy ironically feels more like an achievement than just getting points. The platinum trophy you get will always be there and shine as a big achievement on your profile. But points just feel so abstract and cold and unless you dig deep into the achievement lists to see where those points actually come from.

Not to belittle his achievements but to me it would kinda feel empty.

Honestly when you click on someone's profile or on your self you get the total number of games that you have completed..  The platinum trophy is fine if the game have one, Outlast don't have one so you are stuck with some gold trophies..

You can find any game that had challenges to achieve. Xbox Live started Achievements as a competitive ecosystem for all of the games on one service.

Yes, yes. if you narrow the rules of anything down fine enough you can get the outcome you prefer.

Were they the first with achievements? no.
Were they the first to implement them across a platform? yes.

But they werent the first to HAVE achievements, were they?, If i draw a picture, then you use it on the cover of a magazine, does it mean anyone else using it on the cover of their magazine ripped you off? does it reaaaly? or are you basically just "borrowing ideas" from the person who drew the original?

In that sense, Microsoft "borrowed ideas" from games that features achievements, just like Sony "borrowed ideas" from the xbox platform, and built their own system, just like Microsoft "borrowed ideas" from Nintendo and made an xbox version of Nintendo's "Miis"

So, would you like to say everyone ripped off microsoft and that microsoft ripped off eveyone else too, or would you like to be logical and just say "actually yeah, everyones just building the same kinda thing and lending ideas off each other".
