It's a symbolic thing. Getting a trophy ironically feels more like an achievement than just getting points. The platinum trophy you get will always be there and shine as a big achievement on your profile. But points just feel so abstract and cold and unless you dig deep into the achievement lists to see where those points actually come from.

Not to belittle his achievements but to me it would kinda feel empty.

How exactly are you to say how an achievement feels if you didn't know that 1000 point achievements aren't a thing?

Just because its your opinion, doesn't make it fact.
