By the end of summer seems a bit early, in the first 2 months of this year Xbox One has outsold Wii U by about 200k. What in the next 6 months is going to cause it to outsell it by 2.2 million?

Assuming that Wii U weekly sales remain stable at 40k per week, that would put it at about 7 million by the end of the summer. Xbox One needs to have average weekly sales of 115k in order to pass Wii U by the end of the summer.

I thought the XBO would pass the WiiU by the end of this year but it doesn't look like it's going to happen. I'm guessing XBO will pass it early 2015 and stay ahead. A Halo 2 remake this holiday will move units but I don't think it will have the same effect as Halo 5. There's also the issue of the high price. The XBO has a huge advantage over the WiiU as it has a lot of room for price cuts. The WiiU is $299 and still selling terribly. The XBO will be $399 by this holiday, only question is if they're going to unbundle Kinect or just drop the price entirely.

I dont agree OP. WiiU will take that title, it has already been abandoned by nintendo. Seen a 2015 lineup for wiiu? There will be a ton of things coming out for xbo including Halo games. xbo is almost caught up to wiiu now, thats before the price cut and AAA games. If the PS3 can come back, any system can and dont discount a corporation with a bottomless pit of cash.

X1 will beat the wii U easily.

As much as I dislike MS as a Company, I can't see WiiU ahead of Xbone.  MS is strong in NA and it's a more casual console. At the end of the Gen, it will be(Global) :  PS4 >>> Xbone >> WiiU.

If you want to look at the past to perceive the future, keep in mind that X360 had increasing sales during 5 consecutive years while Wii had a premature death.

This happened because Wii had lack of power and 3rd party support while X360 didn't. Once WiiU and XOne are in the same situation as their predecessors, I predict a long life to XOne and a premature death to WiiU. And, given the fact that XOne had a better start than WiiU, I don't see any chance for WiiU to end up selling more than XOne.

Not gonna happen. XB1 will comfortably take the lead and end up with X2 or X3 (X4 isn't out of the equation) the userbase of WiiU.
